so I survived Zumba last night. Felt a little fancy when I slid on a blazer this morning that fits WAY better now that when I bought it. I wore it to court just last month and the buttons gave me a little resistance, but NOT today!!
Pre-Bible study circuit training this evening.

I think I'm going to start Zumba. I'm going to get the game and dance at home. I like being able to do it when I want and not trying to coordinate with a gym schedule

@chal: why are you wrapping yourself in plastic before working out?

you probably don't want to hear this, but i spent the majority of 2010 going to the gym, working off at leas 1/3 of the calories i took in....with little to no change. i was super frustrated.
then, i decided to concentrate on my diet instead of working out. i've lost close to 30lbs, pretty much back at my high school weight. it feels great! i'm thinking of picking up running, 'cuz that will get me outside to enjoy the beautiful summer weather, and i don't have to pay for a gym to do that.

THIS ^^ is my testimony. Not even gonna lie. I look @ it as I diet to lose, work out to maintain. Thing about diets is you have to work to keep the weight off (at least I do), so I've reconciled myself to the fact that I need both.

@chal: why are you wrapping yourself in plastic before working out? when you voice the question is sounds even more retarded. lol prior to wrapping myself up, I could never work up a sweat while working out. It's like I was retaining water and never really go that "good workout" feeling. So I started wrapping my middle with the plastic to help produce the sweat.

Works like a charm...you'd be happy with the results of sweating and the surrounding males will just be happy. ;D

i'm sure they would be. lol there hasn't been a bra made that's strong enough for me to skip rope. Gotta wear multiples. I have no fewer than 3 contraptions on my boobs when I work out. I'm still bouncy, but it doesn't hurt, so I'll take it. As for the skipping rope deal, I eff wit it, but I use an imaginary rope. Same ish, way less hassle. Hard to get tangled in invisible rope, nahmean?

Oh and another thing...I am NOT going to stop drinking. Ya'll can just quit suggesting that right now.
(people assume incorrectly, because of my work, that I drink much more than I do. My living involves liquor and I'm sure I consume less alcohol than a garden variety "party girl." I drink about a thimble-full for my appraisals and reviews. Wine with dinner on weekends. I almost never drink cocktails. I do shots maybe once every 2 years, lol.)

I was so glad Bun put us on to the fact that Zumba involves a lot of jumping. I was PRE-PARED the first time I showed up in that hoe, lol
btw: I'm refusing to look at the scale until AFTER my full week of act-right. I was off the wagon all last week (and the long weekend prior). I don't even expect any net loss. My only prayer is that I'm back where I started before I went to ATL, lol.

Never quite understood why they called it a spinning class. Why not just say cycling? Either way it's boring as hell to me....

man...did ya'll hear about my workout adventure last night?
I called myself going to Zumba at 7:30 (the normal time) and I showed up like 7:28 feeling real boss, right? Cats are sittin around, waitin on the instructor to select the music. So I sit my water down, lace up my sneaks, get ready. BOOM. The instructor hits the platform and starts stretching. I'm like "wow, this is a great warm-up." Then, soon as Sean Paul finished gettin busy, cats just grabbed they purses and started leaving. Whoa?! What's going on here? Took me all of 15 seconds to realize...that was actually a cool-down. I was actually an hour late and missed the entire class, lol. SMH @ myself.
Went to the regular gym instead and got an EXCELLENT workout, despite my iPod being dead. Remembered to charge that hoe for today tho!
