@dd I REALLY like Smoothie King too just watch out for some they have high sugar counts. On their site they advertise 38 smoothies under 300 calories that is dang near a whole meal worth of calories LOL but they taste sooooo good! eatthis.menshealth.com/search/apachesolr_search/smoothie%20kingJamba Juice has some really good smoothies too and low cal and somewhat low sugar.

I do too 300-400 calorie meals are rather healthy. Now that i am on this "health kick" I just try to do better I don't eat the 2,000-2,200 reccommended calorie intake a day I try to limit it to no more than 1,500-1,800

It was recommended to me that my meals be between 500-600 cals. My doc recommends getting about 2100 cals a day.
I eat 300 cal meals for breakfast (i'm suppose to eat more food but i don't have much time)

It varies from person to person and is dependent on your basal metabolism and your goal. Your metabolism must be very fast if your doctor is recommending a 2100 calorie diet for weight loss. That sounds more like the high side of a maintenance range.

Calorie intake recommendation depends on metabolism, age, gender, activity level and weight. What they don't tell you is that '2000 recommendation' is appropriate for a female 19-30 who is not active. If your active then you would need significantly more. At 2000 I'd be starving myself and would enter a catabolic state rather than an anabolic state.

I just found this out. I thought I was doing something good with all those smoothies, LOL. I had to get a menu and mark which ones were "safe" and then some are still high even without the turbinado.

But smoothies and ice cream keep calling my name... What about frozen yogurt and sorbet? Dunkin Donuts has some kind of fruit blast drink that isn't too bad.

Allegedly Michael Phelps consumes about 9000 calories a day when he's training and he's thin as a rail. I'm old. That's my excuse for my 1800 basal metabolism...LOL

This "cleanse" has got to come from the devil. I'm serious. My relationship with food and drink has never been like this. I hate when lunchtime rolls around and I gotta whip out the ziploc bag full of funky celery sticks and baby carrots.
In other news, I didn't remember to bring my vitamins with me to work and I can tell the difference for real. Mad lethargic.

I'm about to start taking some.. any good suggestions? Yea, keep your stack simple. I would go with some type of nitric oxide pre-workout and protein powder post workout (and pre-workout if you need it). If you go to the local GNC or Vitamin Shoppe they'll try convince you to buy/try a bunch of stuff that you really dont need and that are expensive. I stand by Optimum Nutrition products, so I'd suggest Essential Amino Energy and Gold Standard Whey protein. Cheap and produce results and most importantly the taste is superior to others. I use them both in my current stack.

Coach what you think about Muscle Milk? I'm using Vanilla Bean while I endure this juice fast I'm on now. It keeps me from cramping up when I workout, especially when I swim. Either that or some peanut butter.
If any of you have access to an indoor aquatic center.. jump on it. You can burn 1,000 calories fairly easy. If you wanna eventually jog/run start out riding a stationary bike and strengthen your leg muscles then have at it.

Haven't tried their powder, but on occasion when I dont feel like eating or I just don't have time, I'll grab one of their ready made shakes from the store. I like how Muscle Milk has a mineral & vitamin blend to it...but of course the taste and the amount of protein per serving doesn't hold up to Gold Standard Whey, so I stick to ON products most of the time. One a fast you might was to consider using a Casein protein though (ON Gold Standard Casein of course), its a milk protein so i don't know how you feel about that.
