got through three (count them, THREE) holiday parties this weekend without too many superfluous calories. Alcohol really packs em in, lol. Had a glass of wine with dinner, 2 servings of Sangria and 2 servings of Egg Nog (with rum) at a party and a glass of cognac after dinner.

Doesn't it suck how fast they jump on there but take their sweet time coming off?!
By the way, calorie counting is eye-opening and sorta fun! btw, I think I'm juicing breakfast tomorrow.

The scale really ruins my day sometimes. I was feeling really fit and sexy for awhile there (doing Insanity, counting calories, etc.) Then I got on the scale this morning and I've actually gained a pound and a half, smh. I realize that there are many factors that could've contributed to that (not least of which, my reproductive system doing its own thing this week) but I spent my entire commute wondering whether I need to do some drastic diet ish in order to decrease the number on the scale, smh.
I think I'm taking the batteries out of the scale for the rest of the year. I don't need this.

with all the christmas treats I gained a pound, but I was able to find some jeans that fit that are a size down from my regular size

I did quite well with eating this holiday weekend. I only ate until I was no longer hungry (insteqad of stuffing myself until full) and I steered clear of the uber sweets. Had one small sliver of sweet potato pie instead. I even got in a work out or two. So proud of me!

I've officially been counting calories for 3 weeks. It feels good and is kinda fun. Plus the accountability is a real motivator! My knees and Shaun T are not good friends right now. I did two strong weeks, then took a couple days off. Then hormones forced me to take a week off. Then I got back into it. But my heart wasn't in it because I was too busy focusing on being uber careful with my form so as not to further eff up my knees. I think I'm going to have to hang up my crosstrainers on Insanity. Sucks, cause the workout was awesome. But I need to be able to walk, come 2012.

Insanity IS a great workout. It is also HORRIBLE on your knees. I had a couple of cartilage chips break loose. When I went to see the ortho, there were 4 in the waiting room who had torn MCLs, all from insanity. Ortho said that Insanity was the best thing to ever happen to his med practice. You two just exercise caution when you do the workout. *whistles* lol. I feel you, though. I have Zumba tonight and I'm really NOT looking forward to it. My instructor has been on a jumping spree lately. All that jumping is NOT what's hot for the kid OR the kid's knees.
