Stepped on scale today and was pleasantly suprised by the three numbers. 5'4, 1x6 lbs and losing! Also, didn't know when you lose weigh/inches your feet get smaller too.Interesting...

Nice, Reign and Chal! I'll be doing the two-a-days in Q4. I need to meet another 20-pound weight-loss goal before I take it to that level. Got a lil more fat I need to get rid of in order to make the toning/sculpting worthwhile. Think I'll do another 30-day cardio challenge in August (May's went pretty well). After that, I plan on doing some more drastic weightloss after my birthday and just working the rest of the year to maintain and tone. If the lawd willin and the creek don't rise, your girl is going out like this in Feb 2012 Update: I'm about this 2-a-day life right now. The lawd is in fact willing, and the creek ain't rised (yes, rised) so...yeah the skimpy costume is a reality. I sucked at both the cardio challenges I undertook. I did one in August that I gave up on mid-way through and the one I intended to start in November never kicked off. Indeed, my first time working out this month could well have been yesterday. I ate and drank like a natural fool last week in Vegas, btw (which STILL had nothing on New Orleans). Everything will be fine though. This journey has been very interesting. Learned a lot about myself and my habits. I considered dieting again before the end of the year (for a relatively easy 15 pounds or so), but I'd really rather not. I feel like I'd do better to focus on toning and sculpting. Skinny-fat ain't never been cute, lol

i've/i'm contemplated/contemplating Insanity. Right now I feel as though I've hit a plateau. I'm maintaining, but no longer losing. So it's either gonna be Insanty or Kettle bell. I have until January 2nd to decide.

I'm putting it to you like this. I met my match with Kettlebells. I tried it twice or three times. Each time I literally needed help sitting, standing and walking for +/- 2 days thereafter. I heard it shreds the hell out of some fat, but I just wasn't able to keep up with it.
Insanity, is hard. Super hard. But it's fun, and it's do-able. I can't speak to results yet, but I feel great after I do it! I definitely recommend trying Insanity first.

Insanity IS a great workout. It is also HORRIBLE on your knees. I had a couple of cartilage chips break loose. When I went to see the ortho, there were 4 in the waiting room who had torn MCLs, all from insanity. Ortho said that Insanity was the best thing to ever happen to his med practice. You two just exercise caution when you do the workout.
I still do the warmup before I do weights. But, as for the actual workouts...No mas.

Ouch! I'm actually looking at this "Express" Zumba class taught by my regular instructor at the gym. It's pretty much two hours of Zumba packed into one. That's on Saturdays. In addition to the Monday & Thursday regular classes and the other two days of cardio and/or weight training (which makes me so frickin mad because i hate being sore), it should produce results.
Sidenote: Zumba AND obliques tonight. am i crazy or just plain retarded?

Ouch indeed. My knees already suck. How do you mean "exercise caution?" What exactly should I be guarding against?

hmm,
impact on the joints and lateral destabilization are the two issues Ive heard.
So take for instance the jump knee tuck where you land in a power jack. That is like 4x you body weight on your knee. I would advise to modify similar to the modifications in p90x. Take some of the impact out.
Can you feel it in your knees during the power jacks?

No, because I'm too busy feeling it in my thighs and my chest. I do kinda feel it in my knees with certain exercises (which escape me right now), but I remember feeling it and saying "oh, I better watch that." I'll pay attention and report back. Thanks!

speaking of chest, isn't that suppose to be one of the first to go? why is my band size shrinking yet my cup has increased?
|
|
|
Post by LejaOMG on Dec 6, 2011 16:56:07 GMT -5
why is my band size shrinking yet my cup has increased? Because that's how it works. Your cup size is assigned (more or less) by the number of inches by which it exceeds your band size. So if previously you were a 40 C, that means that your bust measures 3 more inches around than your rib cage. If you lose weight and your ribcage now measures 38 inches around, then your breasts (even if they remain the exact same size) will now exceed your band by 2 additional inches, which changes your bra size to 38 D.

yea, well. going from a double so and so to a triple so and so means i'll be looking into either a reduction or back surgery soon. Shout outs to the Butterfly junt. It keeps the aches away.

You can fit the butterfly? Streets tell me it doesn't come in my size (also, I don't trust AS bras, generally. Had too many bad experiences). Interesting.

yep. just bought 2 more Monday. I won't buy a regular bra from AS, but the butterfly as been good for me. ESPECIALLY when it comes to working out. Don't take as much to tame the flying Ds. The butterfly holds them down nicely. From what I know (which may not be accurate) they start at like a 38D and extend to (i believe) a 46DDD

Morning Fit Fam! I finally decided to get up on myfitnesspal.com. . I've never ever been a calorie counter, but it's that deal. Evidently, I haven't been consuming enough calories. I came in below 1300 two days this week. And I may be overdoing protein (I have cottage cheese for breakfast every day. I also put chicken AND eggs in my salad.) Gotta figure some things out...
