My favs are Summer sunshine and rosemary lavender along. I'm adding coconut milk to the list. I gotta wash my hair today, my scalp is out of control.

yeah; that QP shampoo is the troof. It took me forever to notice that there were no sulfites in it. I had stopped using it for no reason!

Only comb your hair out when it's WET.
Spray your hair to dampness. Then you're going to have to comb it out (sorry in advance ((HUG)) After that, divide it into 4 sections & 2-strand twist each of them (this worked wonders for me!)
Co-Wash it, and then DC. When you wash out your DC, use a bit of your cond. as a leave in to moisturize.
Comb through, then set/style like you want.
Girl! I cannot tell you how much agony this has saved me!

I rarely comb but when I do my hair is always wet and I'm usually detangling (with conditioner). Muse gave GREAT advice. Just remember that you can't treat your natural hair/new growth like your relaxed hair...combing and brushing everyday isn't a necessity and it could do more harm that good.

yeah; nobody told me about Muse's 4-section theory until it didn't matter anymore. I still wash my weaves using that method though.

So there IS hope?!?!
*wipes brow*
Whew!!! lol
I don't comb it everyday. This tantrum came about after I'd washed it and tried to grease my scalp. I'm dealing with three different textures now: Carpet, Shrubbery, and leftover relaxed hair. I wash and DC it, pull it back. Throw on a stocking cap and a lace front or quick weave and call it a day. Mostly the wigs, though, because I like being able to take em off everyday to leat my head breathe.

Mostly the wigs, though, because I like being able to take em off everyday to leat my head breathe. An odd tip I discovered several years ago. Now it's odd and will sound uncomfortable but if it hurts too much to comb it try this: apply a GENEROUS amount of leave in conditioner before you go to bed, put on a shower cap, then head wrap. When you wake up in the morning, rinse. It will not only be easier to comb but much softer. Also if you miss the application of the creamy crack, you can always get one of those color applicator brushes and apply your deep conditioner that way. You would leave it on the same as you would the creamy crack then rinse. Sometimes this helps with the psychological need to "get your hair did."

I can't believe I am coming up on my 7th year natural!
How long have the rest of you been natural?
I am sorry if you all said it---I haven't been following this particular natural thread much because I have been flat ironing my hair since some time last year. I needed more straightening tips than texture tips.
My texture is totally busted after all the straightening. I expected it. I have considered another big chop. YIPPEEE...sigh it will be so exhilarating. After that I am seriously considering doing locs FOR REAL this time. lol

@chal: Have you thought about braiding or twisting it and then putting your hair on? I wonder if that will cut down on some of the tangling.
@outtie: It'll be 2 years for me in July. I transitioned for so long that it feels like I've been natural much longer, LOL.

Okay, I have NEVER worn a wig & only had pieces of weave put into my hair to fill out my updo for Prom years ago.
I heard that you can weave your hair & make it look shorter now. Is that true?
I'd like to try a short cut look for a little while (granted, if I get booked I won't be able to keep it). Would a wig.weave work better for that?

Which one chal...Will a wig or a weave look more natural? I figure a wig as a better investment for when I get booked b/c I'll have to go back to long & straight for shooting. yes, you can and yes, it will

there are wigs that are natural looking. a lace front would probaby be best. the maintaince for wigs are fairly easy, AND you can switch it up whenever. Also, you dont have to wotty about glue. contrary to popular belief, lace fronts dont HAVE to be glued on. you can use the little combs

Her video is long but she's good at explaining things. For me, it's easier to cornrow but that's only because I've been doing it longer.
