No... she needs to spend more time on her and why she's qualified. We know McCain is a war hero, so's my grandaddy. What about you?

So, does someone having been in the military and fought in a war automatically make them better qualified to be President? And was he really a "war hero"?

This broad is comical. She is delivering a canned speech that is full of the things the people in the audience want to hear but she doesn’t even seem to believe her own words. She is trying to mock the Dems but this is just a standard RNC campaign speech. Talk about fighting the USA’s enemies, killing the wilderness to drill for oil (well I do like that idea, 1.50 gas for everyone!) family values and the BOs lack of experience. John McCain being a POW and him being old as fuck does not make him a good candidate. These white folk just don’t want a black man in the White House. What do they expect, cookouts in the back yard, broken down cars in the driveway. This will not work, the Dems just have to ensure that they get out their people.

I know the VP is supposed to be the attack dog - but when you are paper thin like Sarah is - you need to find a better way to do it. They are playing against her strength. Her best strength right now is being a victim of big bad media.
Once you get up and start throwing rocks like that - you can't cry when bigger rocks are thrown back...
...harder
If she wasn't fair game before - she certainly is now

Why does McCain look like he can't move his neck? He has to completely swivel his body around to look to his right or left.

That's the whole GOP's angle. The two aren't connected. I mean his love for country and bravery shouldn't be ignored, but that doesn't necessarily make him the best candidate.

This just sucked. She spent so much time bashing the opponent and talking about McCain's background. It seems like she should have spent more time talking about her views on stuff. what a freakin joke!!!
Besides...who the hell lives in Alaska?!? LOL

Does someone fighting in a war mean that they love their country and they are brave? How many people do we know who actually join the military because they love their country and REALLY want to defend it? LOL!

I can't wait to hear Obama's response to her speech. He will be a class act as usual.

@ Froze, no... not necessarily. You coulda just been drafted or signed up for the free scholarship and got stuck. But being a POW I can only imagine means you were (at least at one point) strong, resilient and determined under pressure and unimaginable situations. I gotta give him props for that, even though he didn't choose it.

Knives should be sharpening at the DNC headquarters and the Democratic War Room as we speak.
If the most you have to talk about is your opponent and NOT yourself and your candidates - you don't have much. Expect retaliation.

I wish I had your optimism...but all of a sudden I'm feeling doubtful. I have learned not to put too much faith in 25/20s. I really don't. And some of them would rather vote for the world to blow up and go down in flames than put a Black man in office.

By the same token, there are many who would rather vote for the coming of a second Ice Age before they put a woman in the Vice President seat.

Doubtful about what?
You all cannot - I REPEAT - can NOT allow yourselves to be roiled when one thing here or there doesn't go our way. I don't care HOW good they think this speech has been - the week has been a disaster for Republicans. For goodness, sake their own party leaders were caught on mic talking about how bad a pick Palin was. I could have delivered her speech - but there will be NO ONE to save her when she has to answer tough questions in a debate but herself. It's not a cakewalk for Biden but all he has to do is say what he knows - she has to try to remember what they try to program her with between now and then. And nothing can save McCain in debates either. He just doesn't do well in that forum and IT WILL SHOW.
We got the bounce we wanted, we got momentum while they got headline stealing detractions during the convention.
This was their convention week. They were supposed to have a good night. Obama is still ahead in the polls and trending upward.
At some point McCain will get some bounce. Don't panic. It's expected. While McCain is bumping his gums about what Obama is and isn't - struggling to read the telepromter - Obama and Biden will be out in the battlegrounds turning them even bluer.
We are fine. Relax.
And if you can't have faith in the "other" folks - have faith that they care more about their money and their insurance than they do that McCain was a POW.
