Did y'all see Spike Lee on CNN this morning?
Just about an hour ago, Soledad O'Brien interviewed Spike at the DNC in Denver. Very candid. Soledad "quoted" a statement that she says that Spike made regarding hip-hop in this election. Well, Spike chuckled and said, "I don't know where y'all get these quotes from, I never said that." Not that it was Soledad's fault because she was simply asking questions and making statements that she'd been DIRECTED to make to Spike from the producer or news director. I just thought that was interesting in terms of how people are so often misquoted (especially in THIS election, and especially anyone who supports Obama.)
Finally, Spike did something I absolutely jumped up and applauded....he ASKED Soledad and CNN to compare and contrast the DNC convention in Denver, versus what they'll see in St. Paul next week. He told her, look at the diversity you see here, and then analyze that compared to what you'll see with the republicans.
I thought to myself...I'll be doggone if I didn't say the exact same thing.

Hillary's speech I thought was excellent. I'm finding it kind of strange that the networks CNN in particular is giving SO MUCH AIR time to Republicans for rebuttal and spin. Their week is was next week. But since they are so desperate for attention, so desperate to attack Barack any and everywhere (including at his convention and during his convention) - they can expect the same NEXT week. I hope their campaign doesn't give them a moment of rest - not one single moment. I hope they interrupt, interject, and spin any narrative the Republicans try to construct.
The black lady crying about Hillary's end of her campaign - she was kinda over the top. I mean you've had several months to get ready for this moment that you KNEW was coming.
I appreciate that Hillary showed you that you could accomplish anything. But Sista you are black. Barack's candidacy and success would tell you the SAME thing. They championed the same platform - you aren't losing. Moreover - Hillary isn't dead. Her career isn't over - this level of mourning is inappropriate and based in emotion not reason.
And if it is not based on reason HOW CAN OBAMA EVER MAKE AN APPEAL TO YOU? I hear the Clinton supporters keep saying he has to reach out to us - my question is how? With what? The only thing you all seem to want is the thing that he can't give you.
So please tell us - how can he as the winner - better serve your fragile nonsensical wandering emotional condition? According to the black lady, the man who is champion of the SAME platform that Hillary would have enacted has (as she said) 2 months to convince her... of what I don't know. He just has two months. Apparently the platform means nothing.
How about this - Hillary isn't dead - neither is her career - so YOU have 2 months sista, YOU have 2 month to get YOURSELF together and vote for Barack so Hillary can get some of her legislation through.
Watching last night, I said the exact same thing about that crying lady. The other thing I noted was that she was saying all the "right" things to get more airtime. She was the textbook Clinton supporters that all of the pundits have been describing for the past few weeks. She hit all of their talking points, and I too, wanted to know what can Barack do to convince her? If Hillary as a woman can show you that impossibilities are possible, how can Barack as a black man not? and you're black? WOW! Yes, she looked, "soooo Presidential..." but she ain't gon' be President this time boo! And to say that since you were 18 you've voted in EVERY election, but this...THIS! THIS! is the straw that broke the camel's back? You don't know if you're gonna get up in NOVEMBER, because Hillary didn't convince a majority of America to vote for her? PLEASE! You're not going to vote for McCain, but staying at home isn't helping him get into office? I don't understand that logic. Why aren't you voting for McCain f you're not going to vote? Ok, enough of that. I was rollin' at Roland Martin talking about Bob Johnson and why he raised the $100 k for the campaign. "He HAD to...after he kept putting his foot in his mouth carrying water for the Clintons!" Ok, maybe that wasn't a direct quote, but it was funny as hell.

I think that Hillary's speech was great. I thinks she was very clear in her message & desire for folks to vote for Obama & that a vote for McCain is a vote for Bush. Now regarding that woman, I was about to jump into tv & give her a reason to cry (as my mama would say). I think it really got those delegates fired up. I liked her quote of Harriette Tubman was good but I think one from Sojournor Truth would have been better since she was at the convention in Seneca Falls (and put all those Beckys on front & blast). The former govenor of VA had me cracking up when he said if Obama is elected we'll finally not be the only nation in the world that doesn't believe in science.

Ok. I thought Hilary made it clear that its over and to move forward. I am watching the delegates cast their pledged votes and notices people still voting for Hillary...let it go!

My daughter will be staying up past her bedtime tomorrow night to watch Obama. I want her to see it live.
I am just getting so emotional thinking about the fact that we have a black man as the official nominee of the Democratic party.

I'm hoping for the same Prissy! Momentum towards unification.... I'd like to say, goal accomplished.

I think that will really do a lot. I cant wait to hear Biden speak.

If youre watching CSPAN, the woman speaking is a double below the knee amputee. I think its cool that she is speaking to the vets and his plan to address the VA plan.

I agree 98. i didn't listen much today, but I'm sure they're spinning it somehow. The majority of Hollywood (being that it's focused on the arts) is liberal. The McCain folks just feel bad that all they have is Arnold and Ron Silver, so they try to spin it. I remember early on George Clooney said he didn't want to campaign for Obama because he didn't want it to hurt his campaign at all. Actors are tax paying, law abiding citizens (for the most part ) and conservatives shouldn't try to make their support seem like a bad thing.
