Founded Jan 5, 1911 @ Indiana University (10 founders) none to which Im going to list cause frankly I only know 4. {the focus} achievement in every field of human endeavor....colors {crimson & cream} and noo I will not spellt hem with Ks. National headquaters located in Philadelphia. Thats allt hats of any importance to ME LOL
* secrets * none of which I can share LOL sike naw, I dont go lookin for other peoples historical secrets. But what I can say from the chapters of Kappas I DO know, they truly are men that really do hold dear to the principles of their org...which is why I highly respect SOME chapters/organizations other than my own.

But seriously though, I really do respect Kappa Alpha Psi. Despite the fact that canes should not be allowed in church services, no matter WHAT the meaning is behind them But the fact that one of the fraternity's national missions is to aid African American communities....that really says a lot being as though Im from Philly and I actually SEE the work thats being done in the community where the organization is founded. Like the national headquaters is bam bam smack in the middle of North Philly LIKE WHOAH although its across from Temple U, thats the badlands, but its like that block is just like blessed, and its really good to have positivity in these rough streets these days. Like its good to do community service, but my personal platform and my platform on Iota Sweethearts stresses African American communities, low-income families because I see what the streets is doing to our young people

Well I didnt really know about any other auxilaries except for Que Pearls cause thats what my mom and my dad was. Honestly my parents tryed to pave my path crimson and cream but Im the type of person who chooses my own path. But its funny cause @ the time before I went to the interest meeting there was an affirmative action bake sale at my school (I got to a predominitely white institutition) and basically they were saying that the only reason why we were at school was because we were black and from Philly. Most of the black kids @ my college are from Philly or Reading which is another low-income city in PA. And it struct a lot of race-relation issues on campus, then I went to this interest mtg for Iota and when I was taught was happening in 1963 with the height of the civil rights movement and in Baltimore, I quickly just thought about everything we were going through @ my school. It was sooo similar. Like history repeating itself. So then I decided to do it and then I noticed that between me and my LSs and my LBs there was 12 of us reactivating this chapter and there was 12 founders, and my chapter was the first in PA and compared to Morgan being the first in the country....take it as being coincidental but then they werent going to have hearts because they wanted a heart to bring in the girls JUST so happened to be a woman who had crossed @ my chapter in 92 who was going back to school and was IN ONE OF MY CLASSES and she offered to help my dean in help reactivate us all....and she gave us sooo much support because we didnt know how to run a frat lol then I think about our eternal sweetheart, who was such a pioneer since 63 with ehlping the founders up jump start this fraternity lol. CALL IT COINCIDENTAL LOL but I was sold on that. I think thats how i knew this was the right org for me. Guess it was a sign from God.
With that being said, I wasnt going to join an auxilary that wasnt official. Yeah they have their own incorporated organizations, but THERES TOO MANY RENDITIONS OF THEM!!! PICK A NAME AND STICK TO IT!! If you gonna be PGI be PGI or KKI or Kittens, Diamonds, whatever!!
LOL but theres no hierchy between sweets. I think my organization is the best because we're nationally recognized. I can go to conclaves and national conferences. I have a personal relationship with my brothers but I can have a business relationship too. Other auxis cant serve their frat the way I serve mine. But I dont look down upon them because I can relate to them.

I wasn't saying "your choice" was negative or positive, I'm just stating the HISTORICAL perception of certain orgs. I was relating it to her being an Iota sweet.

The historical opinion regarding orgs? Oh yes, we have been down that interesting road before. However, continue your discussion regarding the Iota Sweethearts, I am certain thier is much to be learned.

WOW is it truly that deep!?!?!
OH (silouhette) thats cute. It think now a days more frats have wives that do more work on a chapter/national level than do the auxilaries of these orgs. I know the wives of Iota are considered sweethearts as well, being as though they are older they do more work in the graduate chapters.

Its deep for those that attempt to bring it up, however its an opinion and that is that.

I agree it is an opinion shared by a large perentage of the Greek population. I of course dont subscribe to this theory, well let me rephrase that, I DO believe that historically certain orgs hold themselves higher than others. Do I believe that its actually TRUE? Not necessarily

But my whole question is why sororities imparticular have such a bad taste in their mouths about sweetheart orgs?

Its interesting to hear that "theory" that one org is more relevant than the next...

I dunno I think all organizations have relevance to them, otherwise why would they not even exist and carry strong for so many years? I mean I hear ppl tease my frat all the time LOL but I mean thats all it is * a tease * but some ppl DO feel like from the bottom of their heart that their org is above all and really would stomp on another orgs plot if they had the opportunity. However * just a select few *

But my whole question is why sororities imparticular have such a bad taste in their mouths about sweetheart orgs? Their are too many different answers to that question. At the school, I attended aux orgs were considered no more than "groupies"...I do not know how true that was, since I was never a member of an aux group.
