"gel nails" can refer to any of 3 things. 2 out of 3 are used incorrectly.
1. Normal acrylic nail enhancements (using acrylic powder and acrylic liquid medium) that have been topped with a gelatinous coating, which must be cured under a UV light.
2. Nail enhancements that are applied directly to the natural nail. They are applied in gelatinous form (think pre-mixed powder and liquid) and shaped with a brush. Then, they are hardened under a UV light.
3. a chip-resistant nail color (and sometimes hardening) technique that applies a colored gelatinous polish directly to the natural nail, which must be cured under a UV light.

other news: I contoured my cheeks multiple times over the long weekend. It was an absolute HIT! Each time, I left my eyes completely bare. Very interesting look, IMO. A new fave technique for sure.

My shellac manicure is 10 days old and looking wonderful. Only $25. I'm going to have them redone over the weekend...Tired of the neutral pink wedding color.
Pretty as ever though.
@leja-I contour my cheeks sometimes. I use the darkest shade of Black Opal's shade stick. It's a winning technique but I need to use a powder because that formula is too oily for my skin.
I know some MUAs use MAC's Raizin blush.
Did the bride's makeup for the wedding last week. It was an absolute hit. First time she ever wore lashes or a true smokey eye. She LOVED it!

For contouring, I use BH's 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette.
I'm glad the wedding makeup went well. What'd you do on yourself?

Other news: I'm already over here salivating over what sparkly makeup options I'll be donning on New Year's Eve!
I'm thinking about a shiny shimmery grey blackout with red lips (and big, giant hair!).
My holy grail red lipstick, btw: Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick. The ish doesn't budge. I showered in it and left it on overnight as an experiment and it was on there like lawn chairs the next morning. Had to use an oil based solution to remove it.

My wedding makeup: Full Ardell wispies (since I reserved demi wispies for the bride only) Smokey eye-using dark brown Black winged liner Neutral Pinkish lips Nars sheer matte foundation-lightly applied Mac pressed blotting powder to control oil and mattify face Milani Tantastic Baked Bronzer  (falling in love with this stuff, wearing it now with blush and zero foundation or powder) I was pleased with this look. It came together nicely. And when I took my curls down and completed my full look I was like ;D |
