If you're single & don't like to lie, what else have you come up with other than "I have a man/woman?" [NOTE: Saying you're gay/lesbian, even if you are, usually does NOT work.]
Do you intentionally dress down in order to not be bothered?

ANYWAY!!!!, You do get tired of it. Especially when it's done in a tasteless manner. My name is NOT lil mama, shawty, ma, etc. etc. "Psssssssssssssstttt" is not gonna get my attention. And grabbing or reaching for me is grounds for me to sick my right foot up your left nostril.
So sometimes, I adopt an "attitude". Either an " I'm so mean and mad at the world so your best bet is to not say anything to me" attitude, or an "I'm too good to even be seen in the same place as you so don't talk to me because you are beneath me" attitude. Sometimes they work. sometimes they don't.

Well, I will say: I dress down a lot. I am tall, and I work in an office that's like 80+% men. Sometimes you just don't feel like being bothered with the looks, the stares, the comments; at work or otherwise [don't get me wrong; no one's dumb enough to like harass you or anything here] Most of the time, unless I have something going on that day, I don't wear makeup, skirts, heels, etc. I have a pair of non-scrip glasses that I wear when I'm out sometimes. I guess it's a little different for me b/c of my orient. Plus, because I'm tall & stand out, it happens a lot. I don't like being stared @ in my everyday life. I deal with physical criticism all the time - comes with the territory of what I'm trying to do. Outside of that, I'd rather not have to deal with some guy that thinks persistence is key. |

You will get a girl who will initially say she isn't interested or she has a man and after talking for a while will pull the " Oh I just said that now since we have spoke you seem really cool and here's my number" ..... I dress for me. I like my "assets" and I'm sure others do too -LoL. I don't mind being eye candy. Not at all! Like it! LOVE IT!! But don't touch and please don't disrespect me! I'm not over the top. Classy (classic style, hardly faddish) never trashy. I dress to compliment my body type. I'm still young, I work out and when I look good I feel good. You are welcome to admire what you see. I welcome tastful compliments. It makes me smile, boosts my ego and keep me on my toes. When I look good I KNOW I look good and confirmation never hurts  |
