Yeah that is what I was getting at but if you believe they are gay forever from the start it won't matter what they say. At the end of the day its personal preference so I can't get on anyone for having reservations to be honest. I think I would give pause too.

I don't believe that a man can be formerly gay, he will always have those tendencies so my answer is no. A woman on the other hand might have just been experimenting. I agree with ColdFront as to how the decisions we make have consequences and we have to take that into consideration.

Hmm...that question is really strange for some reason maybe because I don't think one can be formerlly gay.

HELL NO. God bless you but hell no. Homosexuality is a hard thing to break from and I just would not be able to shake the feeling you are going to relapse. Especially a guy. If you were truly gay, you are now spending your whole life breaking away from that. I just could not deal with that.

Beautiful! I was thinking this as I came down the thread. This year God has been taking me through and letting me see my imperfections...showing I am no more better than the next person. With that being said I would not prefer someone who at any point has classified themselves as gay because that comes with a psychological attachment that would get very complicated. This is not to say that I WOULD NOT do it. There are people who never classify themselves as gay and have dipped to the other side once or even more than once. You may never know because they may never tell. It's not cool to judge. I am learning more and more everyday although I must admit it's a struggle. I'm just going to put it out there and let it marinate....SIN is SIN. While there is distinction between sin and the unpardonable sin...blaspheming the Holy Spirit...essentially SIN is SIN and God hates it so much he can't stand it in his presence. So don't be fooled that engaging in homosexual acts is any more a sin then lying, stealing, cheating, covetting, etc...Its a lie from the pit of hell. A lot of folks will be held accountable for the "white lies" and "little sins" that they thing aren't as bad. Wake up folks. We all fall short its just that open gay folks wear their dirt on their sleaves while the rest of us sweep ours in the closet. Think about it. |

whether He can and whether He did are two different things. Do you think everybody who claims to find God (big G) in prison actually does? Do you believe priests and have been "freed" of all sexual desire or do you think they are just abstaining because of their faith and calling? Not committing the act doesn't mean you don't want to.

A truly gay person can no more be "formerly gay" than they can be "formerly male/female". You are what you are. The person who is a "former" gay person was never gay at all....they were just a freak that liked freaky stuff with people of the same sex.
