Out of curiousity, why should Kappa Alpha Psi be congratualated? Kappa Alpha Psi built it's reputation upon almost 100 years of "achievement in every human endeavor". Why not congraulate Ben Jealous on becoming a member? To me, the reputations of the original 8 organizations was built upon the achievements that the members went on to enjoy in politics, business, academics, etc...
I congratulate Ben Jealous on his opportunity to contribute to the distinguished legacy that Kappa has constructed over the last century.

what lets start with the real issue here His parents named him BENjamin JEALOUS.
He doesn't even need a line name his govt name is enough. LOL!!!!
but congrats anyway Jealous welcome to Indiana with your short self!!!!

Ben Jealous is really good people. The NAACP hosted a Pre-Inaugural weekend symposium and I drove down from BK to cover it. Unfortunately a lot of circumstances beyond my control made me ridiculously late to cover the events. I was really upset but I did go up to Ben and apologize (the NAACP specifically invited the newspaper I freelance with an invite) for my tardiness and PLEASE PLEASE dont be upset with the newspaper.
Ben told me that "its ok-I got you". He got his then Director of Communications Richard McKenzie and they set up a one on one interview with Julian Bond. Took pictures with them too. Ben was a journalist in Mississippi before heading the NAACP so I think that's the reason he looked out for me
When I saw Ben at the Schomburg Library in Harlem later that year just before the 100th Anniversary of the NAACP he remembered my name (maybe cause my name is unusual). He thanked me for writing the article earlier that year.
He's been getting a lot of flack lately over the Shirley Sherrod issue, but he does seem to be good people. Congrats to him becoming a member of a great organization!

I'd also congratulate Mr. Henderson...he has done some decent work in his own right. I heard him speak years ago and found the info he provided to be quite interesting (I think I still have my notes:-)
