Who watched it? What did you think? Did they do the south justice?

of course I don't understand how they honored the south without adding any Memphis music. Three Six,? 8 Ball & MJG? Not even honorable mention?
and am i wrong for noticing that Lil Romeo ain't so little no more? lol

I'm gonna try to watch all of it tonight. All of the stuff people were posting on Facebook brought back so many childhood memories.

they performed a lot of my old jams. When they broke out with "My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me," i was a goner. I was up grooving like I was at a party or something. lol

That's what I was thinking, Cam. It was a good show (m'eh), but it would have been soooooo much better had they dug a bit deeper. Seems like they only went with the more mainstream types.

It was a lot of incosistencies with the show... it just gazed the surface of southern hip hop.. however it was an ok attempt... there is a good article with Scarface explaining why he didn't attend and it makes a lot of since. ALl other hip hop honors have included east/west coast artist together be then they lumped the South all together on some appeasement type ish. Outkast said honors are for ninjas that aint doing it no more and they still doing it so..... With all that being said: I enjoyed the show especially the first three sets or four sets... Being from South Florida I grew up on Luke... That no limit set was crunk as ish... 2 live crew looks weird doing those songs at 50 ... Kujo and Cool breeze were the highlight of the ATL sets eventhough Bow Wow did rip Jump Jump... DO or Die was a nice surpise but they're from Chicago so

This was by far the best Hip Hop Honors in my opinion...admittedly I am biased towards the Dirty South.

I'm really salty they didn't honor Memphis.. They do hold the only hip hop artists who have won an Academy Award. Plus a 3/6, 8Ball and MJG set would have tore the effin stage down... esp if they got most of the original 3./6 back..
In fact 8ball MJG was on Suavehouse right?? Man if they did a Suave house set and Tela would came out with Sho Nuff... it would have been over ... "Hoes with no clothes Sho nuff"

Reign, get out of my head. I was seriously looking for some Suave House. How can you not put Mr. Big out there. Sho Nuff whould have KILLED it. And Tear the Club up would have brought the building down.
on second thought, maybe not that song. but still, some 3-6, some Project Pat, so Gangsta Boo & La Chat in the mix would have been right on time.

They should have honored Memphis. Also in doing New Orleans, why not recognize cash money and bounce Music? I LOVED seeing Mystikal out there but there should have been more. All and all a good show though.

I liked seeing Mystikal with his cute self making all the crazy faces. :-) I didn't watch because I'm not a big fan of the south when it comes to hip hop... no offense folks, I just ain't. And honestly I don't think honoring a region is a good plan. I think you honor individuals who have had sucess and paved the way for others. Now granted, that might mean the south doesn't get as much shine as the east or west, but I like it better based on specific people.

i think that's why they DID pinpoint the south. because they were left out all the other times.

i only saw the part when mystikal came out too. he has always been one of my favs cuz he's soooo sexy and i love his swag. and three of the south's best rappers are locked up. I think TI may still be in the halfway house(or was he there?), boosie(which he may never get out), and lil wayne

And I like Boosie and all, but one of the south's best rappers I think there are a lot of people ahead of him in that area

Alright, bump it, I'll say it. Alot of the rappers that didn't get no shine at the latest awards where by and large regional artist. Now I agree that they could just do a regular awards and honor some Dirty South artists...
...but if they really ran it that way there'd be even LESS Dirty South artists getting recognition than this show.

YES!!!.. I think who run it would have been more appropriate then Gangsta Boo come out as surprise and kill it and then she go into her verse of Ballers and then Pat come out and kill his verse and then he goes into Chicken Head and then La CHat comes out.. That would have been the hottest ish ever..

BUT I think there is no possible way they should have left 3 6 out.... Hell they honored Jermanin Dupri on production... Hypnotize Minds production def lead to 36 success and them winning an Oscar...

Hell they even honored Timabaland (which from a production standpoint i could see, but the geography is questionable). If Pitbull and Khaled were even allowed in the building then dammit they could have at least acknowledged Triple 6
