What was going through his mind that morning when he had the bright idea to wear that shirt??? He probably doesn't know what the hell AKA is. He could be a homeless dude who just found a t-shirt or God knows what. I doubt he woke up and decided "let me wear a sorority shirt today."

I agree with Cold. There was a pic floating around of this hispanic dude in a Delta shirt. He probably picked it up at goodwill or out of someone's trash and hasn't a clue what the symbols.
NOTE TO GREEKS- Please dispose of your paraphernalia properly. I cut up shirts before I throw them away and NEVER donate them to charity. Also designate a soror or frat to take possession of your rituals and pin upon your death lest your stuff end up on EBay.

you guys would be surprise at the things the clears do. I had a clear co-worker who was pretty cool. She invited me to her baby shower and when I got there is saw this picture over her fireplace. and on the side it had the greek letters Delta Sigma Theta Later, while helping her clean up, I asked if her oldest daughter (in college @ the time) pledged Delta. She said, no, why do you ask? I mentioned the picture. She laughed, said she saw it at a store in the mall, liked it, and bought it. I was like, "OMG, SHER, YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS!!!" I pretty much told her that it only members of the org are suppose have things like that and she was violating. Don't know what she did with it, but when i visited again, it wasn't up there. lol

Black people do that too. I have a friend who has a friend who has a Zeta portrait in her home, and she's not a Zeta. She said she saw it and liked it so she bought it.

Not everyone is familiar with our organizations...not even all Black people. They simply see an item that they like so they buy it. My parents, for example, don't have an understanding of fraternity and sorority protocol. They know that I'm in a fraternity and they know the name of it. I can definitely imagine them seeing some Alpha artwork, deciding "Hey my son is a member and I like that painting so I'll buy it" and then hanging it on a wall or something.

right. that's pretty much what Sher said. She liked it so she bought it. A lot of people who don;t have collegiate experience don't know that these things are off limits. Sometimes they need someone to explain things to them.

Exactly, there is a lady in my choir who has Delta posters in her home because red and white matches the decor of her living room. She has no idea what Delta is nor does she care.

Why is Hulk Hogan wearing Juicy's T-Shirt? Everyone wants to be an AKA, but everyone just can't go that way! ;D But seriously -- as previously stated, please properly dispose of all old nalia as well as chapter/org documents and literature! I just attended a workshop at our regional, and this very topic/situation was discussed!

Black people do that too. I have a friend who has a friend who has a Zeta portrait in her home, and she's not a Zeta. She said she saw it and liked it so she bought it. I was speaking to some members of Zeta Phi Beta that I knew from my Sigma Dove days. Why did this woman (who was speaking to one of the Zetas that she had met once before) come up and say, "I'm interested in becoming a Sistergirl. I even have a picture of ya'll in my house ;D...it's really pretty ...she's got that pretty RED[/b] dress on." (this was NOT a BGLO event by the way) The Zetas that were standing there were like . No anger or rolling of the eyes. The Zetahe was addressing said slowly, "That's NOT us..that would be a Delta if she's wearing red." The woman didn't let that statement register in her mind. She gave the Zeta her phone number and said, "Call me" and kept it moving. Like ya'll said, not all Black people have a clue about BGLO orgs.
