It had a lot going on during the premiere episode, but they were trying to introduce the main characters..

They really did introduce EVERY main character which made it hard to follow at times but you can tell its going to get really good once the stories begin to develop... I'm forseeing THE WIRE set in New Orleans.. with a less emphasis on drugs...

I totally dug the show and I'm a fan of Wendell Pierce (Bunk on The Wire) & the bro who played Rawls on The Wire. Oh-its GREAT to se John Goodman & Melissa Leo (I was a HUGE "Homicide-Life On The Streets" fan)

I'm going to try to check this on demand Blu. It is from the makers of the Wire and I did see Bunk in the trailer commercial. Ima try it out.
But why couldn't they just avoid this new show and just do a new season of the Wire like we all really want? I don't want Wire-light. LOL Gimme the real deal back!

Are they Puff Daddying the casting again. Like many cast members from the Show The Corner were also in the Wire. How many cast members from the Wire are in this?

Since I don't watch TV & can't see the vid (and I've never heard of such a thing as a TREME), I have to ask:
WTH is this about?

Missed episode 2 last night but episode 1 for me wasn't as much about the characters as it was the NO culture. If I hadn't lived in NO for several years, I would have been confused by certain aspects. What's a chief? What are they practicing for? Why is dude dancing down the street in a bechazzled Big Bird costume? Why are they walking to a cemetary with a band? You got a taste of the food, music, and customs that make NO unique.
The white boy blasting Mystikal cracked me up!!!! I think he's going to be one of my favorite characters.

I think Wendell Pierce's wife was one of the Katrina victims interviewed in Spike Lee's "When the Levees Broke" documentary. I remember her because she kept saying it was "not regular hot" but "Africa hot". Pretty accurate portrayal so far though only the true locals have mastered the distinct accent.

I'm trying but they're losing me. I don't see what storyline is building. Still a whole lot of focus on the cultural aspects but there's nothing compelling that they appear to be building to that makes me want to keep watching.

Too much going on at times. I love multiple story angles, but they are losing me with these. They need to pick up pace a bit.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show.....it's so emotional to me and everyone I know round here...with a serious lack in the New Orleans Accents (which would make it really hard for outsiders to understand the show)...that's the only flaw i see so far.

Sooookkkkaaaaaaayyy! True Blood is now showing mini episodes I believe. They connect season 2 with 3 but have no scenes from either. I didn't catch it but it's gotten GREAT reviews. I def plan to catch it when it re-airs. My Sunday nights need a boost until TB returns in June

I like the first 2 episodes but now I just feel like I feel like I have to be from New Orleans, have lived there for a while or know a lot about the culture to get into the show. I still watch it but I always find myself doing other things while it's on.

****spoiler**** now that they found Donna's brother I find myself cutting people out the storyline. LOL That's the thing that was holding me on tooth and nail. I still haven't watched last week's episode. They skipped a week and threw me off. Now with the return of SOOOKKIIEEEEE I will probably have to fight to keep up. DAVIS!!! I SOOOOOOOOO LOVE HIM "That mean 'shit be mine', okay" ROFL omgarsh I have to go back and find that so I can laugh even harder!!! I really like Treme but it's gonna have to pick it up a bit soon. Steel and everyone else please come back and comment on a weekly basis lol I like to discuss this stuff.

damn Creighton. I knew things were going South when he ditched the Mardi Gras celebration but with each thing that happened in this last episode you knew what was coming.
