Why did this daggone thread make me sit down and think about the fact that I've been active under SIX different ones!!!!
Of the ones in my tenure, 21st - Marcia Fudge, current US Congresswoman, and a bad sister. Her command of Roberts' Rules was amazing! I wish I could run a meeting the way she did. She's very down to earth, fair and approachable and was an advocate for the undergrads.

*breaks protocol but what the hayle*
And my favorite AKA Basileus is Mary Shy Scott (23rd). She was my music teacher all through elementary school and is really good people! I know squat about her years in office but she was many of our favorite teacher back in the day. I see her and her husband in Kroger from time to time and in that amazing way that teachers do, she remembers us.

Even though I wasn't an AKA yet when she was in charge, I think it's neat she was your teacher.

Hearts for Soror Mary from the Significant South Atlantic!
She is SO loved in Atlanta, and a wonderfully sweet person.
I'm thinking on my choice, but she rings right up there.

I guess I would have to name two of our general presidents....
Bro. Ozell Sutton - his signature is on my shingle, and he was the bridge between the old and new school of Alpha as he walked (literally) with Bro. Dr. King, and can always recall that dark day in Memphis in 1968. He was there!
Bro. Harry Johnson - for his judicial acumen and his great sense of humor! Harry knew how to "loosen up" and cut the fool when the moment called for it, but mostly for his untiring effort in bringing the King monument from the blueprint to the physical structure itself. That will be his legacy in Alpha Phi Alpha.

I was kinda digging how Soror Kennedy carried herself during the 1992 convention...but I'm with you. Soror Boyd (who was our RD when I was made) is my fav so far. She definitely has a presence that is captivating, a VERY impressive resume and yet down to earth. Gotta love that combination.

Bro. Milton Davis and Bro. Henry Ponder are also two of my favorite...I met both well before I was initiated.

She was our 17th President 30 years ago and I know approximately how old that makes her but I cannot believe it! She's breathtaking even today! Funny memory of her. I was in a small meeting with her and she was going off about wanting to pull some of the delegates out of the procession for what they had on during the formal opening of the Convention. Soror Canady (18th President) kept trying to veer her to another topic but she was HOT!!!!!!!!! I wish everyone took protecting our protocol and sense of appropriateness as seriously.

Dwayne M. Murray, Esq. Currently he serves as the 31st Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. I had the pleasure of meeting and taking a couple of pics with him. He is out of Baton Rouge, LA.

Actually, I do appreciate her for her "regal" quality, and the way that she carried herself, Dearly. I had the opportunity to meet her once, and while I'm sure the other great ladies who were priviledged to lead DST were superb in their own right, Ms. Bailey simply had (from what I could tell) a presence about her that commanded authority..and that could have been due to her statuesque presence, but bottom line...she was a sharp lady! She spoke at one of our general conventions (Washington DC, 1986.) The fact that she was the sister to Bro. Frederick Humphries may have had something to do with that as well.

It does give me a great sense of pride that two of the former BGLO general presidents; (Bro. Atty. Milton Carver Davis (Alpha) and Dr. Yvonne Kennedy (DST) ) are from my home state of Alabama.
