America’s Five Historically Black Fraternities Partner to Help Members Find Jobs March 2, 2010 · Print This Article America’s five historically Black fraternities consisting of Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Iota Phi Theta along with Personnel Strategies Inc. (PSI) announced a partnership to jointly produce a diversity job board. The job board entitled www.GreekDiversity.com promotes career opportunities to fraternity members across America and will be featured at all fraternity websites including regional and local chapters. The www.GreekDiversity.com will showcase employers and opportunities from a cross section of industries and locations. GreekDiversity.com will be one of the few niche job boards that will reach a truly diverse community of over 600,000 fraternity alumni and college students. “The GreekDiversity.com job board is a great project. Our fraternity members are excited about supporting this effort and using this tool to improve their career potentials. It will also assist our corporate partners to connect with our unique market of qualified and value driven candidates.” Says Richard Lee Snow, Executive Director of Kappa Alpha Psi. “We can finally centralize all our efforts to assist our alumni and student population.” Black fraternities are a mainstay in African American Society not just for ethnic fellowship but for initiating changes that effect politics, philanthropy and society as a whole. For employers who share similar commitments to community and society this represents an exceptional opportunity for diversity branding and recruiting. “PSI is pleased to work in partnership with the fraternities to bring this talent base to employers throughout the country. Our employer clients have often expressed their interest in reaching a professional diversity base. We think this will be a must for all employers serious about diversity. ” states Mike Hall, President of PSI. PSI is the nations leading producer of Diversity Job Fairs. In 2010 PSI Job Fairs will be produced in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. PSI is the only job fair producer selected by the NAACP to brand its events as NAACP Diversity Job Fairs.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea....it just sounds like every small business in the Black community where it has to either be named something clever, after a Biblical figure or after Martin Luther King Jr. You know what i'm talking about....the "Word Of God Hair Salon" or the 'Mighty Blessings Barbecue" joint...
I wish they would have given it a better name.....

Stop being Negative Nellie, VP! LMAO Naw it's bs really. Like what can this outside organization offer the frats? The fraternities have the database, the communication lines between each other etc. Why do we keep going outside to do things when help isn't needed? Why couldn't the orgs just come together and do it by ourselves? First Sprite sponsoring step shows, now 5 orgs with over 450 years of combined experience in many different facets that we face endorses an organization with 20 years? I guess mofo won't be happy until National Achievement Week is sponsored by Popeye's and chit. Where does it end? Why do the higher up's continue to pass the buck? Just on a historical level with Omega Psi Phi the young bruhs in the 20's and 40's twice withheld monies because the frat was not providing adequate housing nor job development opportunities or apprenticeships( as was called internships in those days). The 5 Fraternities have more money, influence, and collective power together than this one organization. When the orgs are not spearheading an agenda from top to bottom, there will be problems. Like does PSI have more pull than Earl Graves? Bill Cosby? Tom Joyner? Togo West? David Satcher? Vernon Jordan? That's Business, Medicine, Politics and Entertainment right there. Somebody please show me how this 20 year old Organization can be of a better benefit than the orgs coming together and getting all influential members to sit down and endorse a collective agenda.

VP is right...I had this convo with another Alpha last night duing a telephone debate. We were debating that BGLO's have outlived their usefulness.
I argued the affirmative. It's an easy argument.
During conventions I wonder how so many men, with so many influential contacts and so much influence themselves manage to do so little.
Seriously, what we do as a collective is the equivalent of a Bush and Clinton trying to raise money for Haiti by holding a fish fry, can food drive and a cafeteria dance.

Who you think can pull more companies to a Job Fair? PSI or Bloody Pi's own "sure yall need 30 stacks for the 85th Anniversary here you go" Earl Graves with his Black Enterprise Machine. lol

The thing is the influential contacts are being used.... the money just isn't being shared.

This little venture should be called, "desperation". Every time someone outside the inner circle gets some bills, the buzzer should go off.

Since you have denounced your membership, why do you really give a damned, denny? Explain if you can. A buzzer should go off everytime a wacked-out kook denounces his/her/its membership, because they feels that BGLOs are spawns of the devil.
