You may have ivy league schools, but more people choose our schools down here then they do those ivy leagues up there. Is that why you chose to come down south to be educated, or was it because you couldn't get in the ivy league school? *noticed I preferenced this so if you say the less smart folks come down south to get in school because its easier, that will also apply to you, lol! ;D* LOL ... I think you're logic's got some bad wiring. I had the northern experience all my life, going South for school was part of me doing "something new".

Good point...
...y'all also pioneered MegaChurches...
...get 'em Creflo. Oh, I know you ain't talking about swindling ministers. The North got their fare share and then some! And someone mentioned about the govenor who flew out the country to meet his fling. At least he had enough sense to fly out the country...... ....unlike one northen mayor we know who was using government electronics to send sextxts to his fling and got caught swindling *cough* Kwame Kilpatrick*cough* LOL - is Kwame divorced yet? Cause Mark Sanford's wife filed a little while ago? LOL.
p.s. We can elect a black Senator in the North... how'd that work out in Tennessee? LOL
p.p.s. I was actually routing for Ford - he got a bum deal

I used to love to hike up in the (snowless) Kennesaw mountains for this reason. It's just you up there on the trail and it's serene and you're looking out over the beautiful world below.....HEAVEN Hiked? Your elitist a$$ probably rented a hover craft and just floated to the top of the mountain ;D

LOL - really? We are talking about quiet that sounds like you're in an empty room, but that occurs in a completely open space. In a forrest you hear bugs, you hear birds, you hear leaves on trees rustling (i.e. being seranded by nature). When you get snowed in, there is none of that... just quiet... pure tranquil quiet. No bugs, no birds, no engines, no leaves.
You know how during the day, the sounds of the every day hustle and bustle block out all the little sounds...? Like during your day you can't hear the clock ticking? But when everything else is quiet, suddenly you can hear it? It's like that - except it's outdoors. I went out into the snow one time and realized when it was completely quiet, I could actually hear the electricity humming through a lamp post all the way on the other side of the street - it was the loudest thing in the area. It's THAT quiet. Y'all are really selling the attributes of snow HARD. We ain't buyin. Snow sucks. LOL and y'all negii are trying to sell these forrests for some reason. All of a sudden you're Robinhood and his Merryman. P.S. Have you ever made Ice cream out of snow...? How about snow men? Snow ball fights? Of course not... y'all just get sleet - can't really do all the same things with that. LOL. But it doesn't matter... you all can probably make "dirt angels" in the forrest on the mountainside and I'm sure I'll hear how it's just as good. LOL

I think the Northerners have the advantage here. Y'all have seen the open fields, yall have seen the mountain top, but yall haven't seen the snow ins. Northerner have seen it all. How can you possible know if it is the same or not if you haven't experienced all three? Personally, I like the drastic change of seasons. Just feels like a new start each time. Outtie I think it's just different for people from the environment. We know how loud and cluttered the world can get without the snow on the ground. Contrast that against the all white quietness... it almost seems freakish when you should be hearing all sorts of sounds since you're outside and yet it sounds like you're in a room. I guess if you never grew up with snow, you just don't know how to appreciate it

I have gotten into pine cone wars when I was young Yeah... that's probably just as good as snow balls (except pine cones are oblong and sappy... unless they've opened up, in which case you can't get any velocity out of them)...
...but it's probably just as good. *Snicker*

That's true. It occurred to me while we were talking about the snow and being snowed in...others were...thinking about having the upper hand in this convo. "If it don't happen in the South it ain't important" I can dig it. However, every last one came in and finally admitted that they experienced and it was nice. So thank you all for saying what we've been saying all along. ;D ***takes Salvation Army money back to local headquarters*** I think the Northerners have the advantage here. <--x on a rampage <--x got more salvos to dispense I've done all you mentioned in the snow when I was little. And once you are done sliding down the hill in the sleigh, snow balling each other to death, making the snowmen and angels, and even changing the color of the snow (my friend had something where we were changing it to all colors), you are ready for the snow to melt so you can do all the other outside activites we like to do. Plus, once snow has been down for awhile, it because mad dirty and isn't pretty.
