eh.... I'm on the fence.
When you are confident and humble you its very little that makes you feel inferior to others. You will yield or demostrate humble gestures and not give it a second thought because you dont feel like you're "better than that" however you are totally confident in the authority that you have. I think Obama falls along those lines
now would I have done it... I'm not sure... probably not ..

Um, when in Rome, do as Romans do. This is what they do in Asian countries, he was in an Asian country. For America to supposedly be a "toss salad" of all the different nationallities and cultures, America as a whole is ignorant to cultures outside of our own. I'mma need for Americans to be more culturally aware of other people's culture besides our own so that way we don't seem so ignorant when we see one of our leaders adhereing to their culture in THEIR land.
I mean, was people offended when Hilary Clinton or any of our female dignatries went over to the Middle East and covered their heads with a scarf to adhere to their traditions?
I see it as the same thing.
Not that big of a deal.

but he is the President of the United States which is the equivalent to a King in some aspects. He is the key figure of THIS country and he should not be participating random submissive gestures around the world. Just like the muslim women would like remove their head garments just because they are in the US. However is this something to news worthy? not really. If Bush (or any other Pres) did it would it be such a huge deal? I doubt it.

If you noticed the guy is bowing as well.. However, his bow is not as deep as Obama's. Even though I think it was ok, I don't think his bow needed to be so deep, but that may have been protocol. Americans are some times full of crap especially those die hard conservatives. Americans do not bow down to anyone even if its just traditional or following protocol... Now if that guy came here and bowed to the President it would not be a big deal because its ok to bow to an American especially if that American is not Obama.

What my Soror said! We need to get it together. Such expectation that a US leader should not observe custom in a foreign country? Complete balderdash. The man does foreign tours in the interest of diplomacy. How could we tout that, then refuse to observe another country's traditions? To not have done so would have been a slap in the face of an entire culture, and most certainly not a good look for America. On to other news... Um, when in Rome, do as Romans do. This is what they do in Asian countries, he was in an Asian country. He may have gone all extra with the depth of the bow but the fact that he DID bow should not be an issue. Protocol... Bush kissing and holding hands with Abdullah. Does this make him gay or Abdullah's bitch?

Bowing is considered random and submissive in America. In Asian countries, a sign of respect. Americans needs culture awareness classes. When in Rome.....

He may have gone all extra with the depth of the bow but the fact that he DID bow should not be an issue. Protocol... Bush kissing and holding hands with Abdullah. The right-wing lunatic fringe group of our society had grown so accustomed to the previous pick-up truck cowboy being a buffoon, and just totally ignorant of any type of protocool and diplomacy, that now having an intelllectual, cosmopolitan president demonstrate such grace and sophistication, it simply makes their spitoons shake!! Here's an analogy: For those of you who maybe fans of "The Beverly Hillbillies," remember the trouble and consternation Miss Jane Hathaway had trying to turn Elly May into a lady? Well, it's a whole lotta Elly Mays, Jeds, Jethros and Grannys in that wingnut fringe and they just don't "cotton" to well to anyone trying to teach them any kind of MANNERS. That is all!

Why are people so up in arms about this? Obama is not Daniel in Babylon. He is not bowing before a god, and he is not a Christian anyway. Now if this had been Hirohito, and Obama was a Christian, I would say bowing would be a serious problem, because the Japanese emperor was considered a god. I do not believe this is the case now, even then it would not matter, Obama is not a Christian.
Your Robe rant on conservatives serves no purpose, and this president's intellectual is about to ruin our country. Just another sought after wingnut who won an election, and JUST WANTS TO KILL.

"The “Judge-Not, See-No-Evil” feel-good doctrine dominating Churchianity in America has manifested itself from grassroots Socialism in the pews to the political platform of Presidential contender Barrack Hussein Obama, who on March 26 at a campaign stump in North Carolina suggested that Jesus Christ is not the only path to heaven. What is shocking is not that Obama suggested this heresy, but that many so-called Christians in America agree with him. I suppose this zeitgeist permeating the lukewarm biblically watered-down and politically-charged Churchianity that masquerades as a legitimate religious faith in America is to be expected. After all, many mainline churches now approve of everything from abortion to Homosexual Marriage in their council rulings and positions. The Secular Left has seized on this opportunity to create a new Christian faith that is fused with a Socialist ideology and a hard Left political identity." swordattheready.wordpress.com/2008/06/25/obama-and-american-christians-now-say-there-are-many-paths-to-salvation/You make the call!!!!!!!!!!

Why are people so convinced they know this President Obama's spiritual beliefs? Who are you addressing with this question? Anyone who cares to answer. More specifically people who are 100% sure his spiritual beliefs are not what he has said they are. IDK about you but I've had secular jobs that had policies that contradicted my spiritual beliefs... for example, I worked with one agency that would grant assistance to a struggling single mother but not that same single mother if she happened to be married. My spiritual beliefs would lead me to want to help the married couple who is struggling as well. Yes you can do backhanded things to help them (which most of us did) but then you are being disobeient to leadership. I've worked with agencies that provide safer sex information to teens and unwed people... my spiritual beliefs are that one should wait until marriage. I can stress the importance of waiting with these people but at the end of the day, I agreed to work for or with an agency that outlines you will address "x,y,z." Presidents do not create laws! Why are people so hellbent on insisting that President Obama is getting ready to implement heathen laws? Your issue should be with the House and the Senate who must create the law for him to sign in the first place! Has he implemented any executive orders to do the things you are proclaiming he does? Has he originated any E.O.s that are in direct contradiction to the Christian faith? I don't want to read about his alleged doctrine or what you think he beliefs, just the exact E.O. and Bible verse that shows the contradiction. That's all folks

He has already signed an order, and if Christians were still not so obamafied, maybe they would have taken their heads out of his butt, and addressed this issue.
By the way, you fing the order. It is so much more satisfying when you seek it out yourself and find it.
aba d aba d
p.s. I call and write my reps and reps from other states.

THIS president is about to ruin this country? Where the FUK has your lunatic ass been for the last eight years? Did the mothership come back and take you home for nearly a decade, and then drop you back off here on earth just after January 20, 2009? And he just wants to kill? You and them war-startin' chicken(schit) hawks from that last administration probably have a good 'ol time at the banjo-pickin' cookouts! I'll bet you coon just to their likin' "Mo tea, suh...Yessuh...Nossuh...three bags full suh!" You are among those wingnuts I talked about in my "rant." You might just be the HEAD wingnut!! Elly May Palin will become a billionaire off the dumbness of people just like YOU!!

Sorry to disappoint, but I never had any intentions of buying Sarah Palin's book. As for your racial epithets, you may want to take a look in the mirror; you and the prez are in the same tribe, " the whas your name boy, my name is roby, not toby tribe".......
You said there are none, I know there are some, and chased them down 2 minutes after I read your post. Happy Hunting!!! Aside from his executive orders are his abominable, non-cabinet assignments. Some black folk, professing believers at that, are so easy to fool, it's becoming commonplace.

And what TRIBE do YOU belong to? As far as being easy to fool.....I hope YOU were looking in the mirror when you typed that!!
I'll ask you as I've asked other wingnuts....where was all of your concern for this nation when an idiot and his minions were in charge, and pissin' folks off all around the world? Just like the other winged freaks on the right, you were nowhere to be found, and your voices were silent! Well, do us all a favor and SILENCE your voice once again! What you are spewing has no value, and certainly no granule of truth!
Hypocrites and flies I do despise....the more I read posts from hypocrites.......
