I used to work in retail banking and I can tell you that Wells Fargo has ALWAYS been into pushing high risk loans.

This has more to do with Wells Fargo and their tactics than Smiley. They could have stuck any famous Black person up there and it would be the same result...Wells Fargo was going after minorities and giving them bad loans. They just used him and I kind of feel like this article is doing the same thing.

I'm playing devil's advocate when I say this, but maybe their tactics had him fooled just like most of America

<----Is not a Tavis fan
When you endorse something, you should do the due diligence to make sure that "product" is vetted and is in line with your principles. Tavis likes getting his "shine" and probably didn't look past the surface. I don't think he purposefully conspired against the attendees. I just think he didn't care to know the details.

Either he didn't know any better or didn't care to know the details. I don't really think it was a deliberate conspiracy to hurt anyone. I am disappointed that he didn't look into this deeper before I decided to associate himself with it. Honestly, I hate what Wells Fargo did. They were dead wrong, but as consumers,we have the responsibility of being more discerning. I would have been very skeptical about this. My skepticism would have won out over my desire to attain a dream that they were trying to sell me.
