blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2008/01/obama-campaign.htmlRobert Johnson, a.k.a. "The King of Coonin" is taking digs at Obama as if his word or opinion carries any weight with black folks of any intelligence. He became a billionaire by creating a modern day minstrel show and now he’s trying to use his “Street Cred.” to take down Obama? Get the fvck out of here. He is a rich politcal hit man attempting to use his financial position to gain favor in the Clinton "Big House." Then again, this is Bob Johnson so I would expect nothing less.

Cammy Poo!
I think the Blacks of the Old Guard are supporting the Clintons because they think they can gain politically and/or financially from a Clinton win. Obama ain't kissing their asses, so they are gonna try to make him look as bad as possible.

It is so obvious that Rob is looking to curry favor with the Clinton Cartel it's sickening. If it wasn't at Obama's expense, if it was just another white candidate, and as Cam pointed out if Rob Johnson hadn't created the Crown Prince of television coonery that BET is, then this sort of pedaling for power wouldn't bother me so much.
No person who was involved in creating the BET that exists now can realistically say, "hey I'm concerned about the issues of black people" This was a huge miscalculation on Rob Johnson's part. And as wishy washy as I have thought Oprah to be on race issues, give her credit - she seems to understand what Mr. Johnson doesn't.
BTW which coon is gonna endorse Hillary next? Maybe Ray Jay. That would be poetic. Maybe she could get him to criticize Obama's record on women's issues.

LMAO @ modern day minstrel show. Man I tell you all that shucking and jiving...steppin and fetchin on BET is sickening. You would think we as black folk couldn't talk. Now I have southern roots...my fam is from South Carolina and Georgia but why does southern have to equal uneducated and ignorant like they portray it with all this snap/leaning wit it rock wit it/ crank dat...whatever music. :smh:
By the way there is no greater uncle Tom than Bob...he even has Clarence Thomas beat by virtue of his creation(BET) setting us back decades. That is all.

If Obama was a jack-a$$ of a candidate, if he was like Allen Keyes or something like that, where the dude didn't even have an outside chance of winning and no good ideas and platforms...
...then I might understand Rob Johnson's stance. Despite what most of white America still thinks, we don't just vote for someone because they're black.
But if they have good ideas and are ready, and they happen to be black... hell yeah they'll have my support. Rob Johnson and Charlie Rangel, I fear, are going to find themselves on the wrong side of history whether Obama is elected or not.

This whole situation is such a mess. Bob Johnson's initial comments were soooooo playing on that whole "Bill Clinton was the first Black president" mess that so many black folks actually believe...they aren't that ingrained in the black community. Just b/c his office is in Harlem doesn't mean he didn't do stuff in office that was detrimental to our people.
*sigh*
I wish people would look past the bullshit

I used to hold my nose in order to try to like Bob Johnson. I mean he is a self made billionaire... but as soon as they got rid of Tavis Smiley off of BET, (the one and ONLY redeeming grace about the entire network) it became clear that Bob was all about Bob.
Plus, alot of the personalities on BET left because they complained that BET was paying them peanuts compared to what the fair market value of their work was. So back then Bob Johnson looked out for himself. Why would anyone see this latest stunt as anything BUT Bob Johnson continuing to look out for himself.
