How much do we lend to what we see in our sleep? How many have those dejavu kind? Anyone ever have one that was SO FAR OFF BASE of who or what you are that it confused you? Has anyone ever died? Anyone ever busted a nice one as a result of a dream you had?
RUN IT... miss ya'll again feel like talking...

I can't say that any of the above applies to me but one think I'm noticing which is weird is that I am suddenly just now remembering things that I dreamed about 1, 2, and 3 years ago. What's that all about?

What cause dreams?? For all you psych savvy....
I don't dream much when i do they are deja vu. Somewhere along the line i'll see the dream unfold in reality. I've seen people in my dreams before i ever met them....but my spiritual state of mind and my religion plays a role in my interpretation of that.
But i have been having the same dream lately. For 2 weeks i'm being chased by the police in my dream....and i'm sure i know what the dream means. I just don't want to come to term with it....but that again go back to my religion.

Lister, I generally take stock in my dreams and pay attention to what I am subconsioucly picking up daily. For example, I have been having a semi recurring dream about funerals. When I approach the casket, it is generally someone close to me, but who they are can vary. Well the creepy part is when I look at their "body" they are dead, except for their eyes. They will have eyes like a dolls, the kind that move all around. This dream perplexed me until I resolved that it was a warning. Sure enough, I needed to "watch my back" as the dream forewarned. I was facing promotion over some staff members who have been at the job longer than me. We work together daily, however I am higher educated them all of them. While smiling in my face, they were plotting my demise, and activly trying to tarnish my reputation with my Director. They would have succeeded if I let that bother me. When I was confronted with the truth I was able to react calmly, voice my position carefully, and God gave me an alternative. I took it.
In your dream, it generally means that you are feeling guilty of something you said or did. It may not be anything pressing, but just a reminder to make things right. Confront your officers who give chase, and "face your punishment" fiqure out how can you make things right IRL. I know some people dont believe in any of this, but as a multi-generation dreamer and empath, I generally lend dreams some credence.

I recently dreamed of a situation (with lots of specifics) concerning one of my co-workers...I mean something life-altering. Days later I was informed that this same exact situation and specifics were indeed true, but for another co-worker. So my dream replaced reality with another person...
<----still tripping off of this whole thing

Generically your right, but as i mention before, the faith i practice plays a role into the interpretation. My dream has nothing to do with guilt, but it has to deal with a spiritual journey that i'm must take, but am currently dodging (you can say running away from too). See, i know what the dream calls for me to do...i just have to come to terms and walk the road. It may sound and even seem confusing but i'll be happy to explain....well try to explain it to you if you want. This is one thing that VP and i have in common...my faith is very similar to his with some differences. Come to think of it....it has the fundamentals of astral projection and all the other things that comes with that. Dig?

Our minds are so powerful and we do not even realize it. We often pick up on nuances, behavior and activities that are so painful or stressful, our brain stores them in the "deal with it later slots". I truly believe that many dreams allow one to sort through certain events and prepare us for the real deal.
Loves to have fun dreams though, too.

The themes of my dreams: I’m being chased by something
In each dream it is something different. Sometimes I fight and sometimes I run

So have any of you have been spiritually "held" down in your dreams. This is probably the most frightening of my dreams because it seems to occur when I am nearly awake. Someone is trying to get my attention. I try my best to not let the fear entrap me, and prevent revelation. I feel it before it comes. My heart begins to beat fast, the room seems illuminated and then I hear the deliberate footsteps charging towards me. I panic and CANNOT MOVE! I want to fight it, I want to run or something but before I can- It is on me. Pinning me down and preventing me from screaming, moving or opening my eyes. I seem paralyzed, but I am not. I am being forced to stay still, my hands and arms in a defensive position- frozen in time. This lasts for sometimes minutes it seems, but other times seconds. (when that happens it generally tries again) When I continue to fight, It seems to jump off. I end up letting out a scream and I am awake. Fully awake and scared out of my mind.
This is the kicker I am not in the REM state because as soon as it happens I am FULLY awake. I wont lie, I start praying when it happens in my mind because I cant speak. I have read the sleep paralysis, the Rem theories and a bunch of others...I will say that if it were frequent and consistant, I could attribute it to one thing, but it always occurs 3 days in a row, when something is about to go down...I might be just having anxiety attacks due to my empathy. I dunno!

There are many theories as to why we dream what we do.
One theory is that dreams are our mind trying to make sense of random information it received throughout the day. Sometimes we have sensory intake that doesn't really fit into any "story line" so our brains try to fit it into something that makes sense. Kinda.
Also, there is a belief that dreams are more lucid in people who have a higher concentration of Melanin. Take that how you will.
Dreams are a spectacular phenomenon for anyone interested in reading up on them. Take the academic approach first. There are some really strange theories out there that could have you sounding like a nutjob.

I had a de ja vu moment in high school when one night I dreamed that I was in a white room. I was in pain and I couldn’t find my father
Later that afternoon I was having bad stomach cramps and had to go to the attendance office to call my father, but I could not reach him and the office had white empty walls because it was new and had not been painted yet

Wow those are heavy, baby (sings like Effie)!
I had a dream that I was in my grandfather's house. (He recently died) and was sitting in his chair (which I would never do IRL because he had lost control of his bodily functions and made a mess of things several times in that very chair). I was aware that the house was dark, that the windows and doors were all closed. Several things occured, but bottom line I was inclosed in a house, where death occured and sitting on the dead patriarch's chair that was premeated by waste.
The next morning I started bleeding heavily. I was 5 months pregnant. I was loosing my baby. I later lost my baby and all I could think was that the house symbolized my womb.
<----Is okay now.
