Peace unto all ...
I don't subscribe to any particular faith or creed; but I'm curious about two things (If you care to share):
1. What is your faith or creed?
2. Do you practice your faith from tradition (eg. parents raised you as a [insert faith]) or do you practice your faith because it's what you discovered to be truth?
Bonus: If your faith was discovered, how did you come about it?

It's kinda complicated for me. My faith is a mixture of Christiany, Universal beliefs and some Eastern Philosophy.
Most importantly, I follow Jesus' ministry meaning it trumps other things that are stated elswhere that may contridict what Jesus taught. I believe in the core values of love for your neighbor and love for God above all things. etc.
Also, I believe in balance. I believe everything balances itself out and what comes around goes around. I believe in doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I embrace positivity for myself and I try to instill encouragement into others.
etc etc.....

I am a Christian but with somewhat alternative views.
I was raised as a Christian but embraced Islam later on. After a few years of being a Muslim. I was re-introduced to Jesus and I eventually accepted him as my lord and saviour. HOwever, I still believe in a number of principles I learned while a Muslim.

1. What is your faith or creed? I claims Baptist.
2. Do you practice your faith from tradition (eg. parents raised you as a [insert faith]) or do you practice your faith because it's what you discovered to be truth?
I practice my faith from tradition. My grandma and aunt took me to church EVERY Sunday and she was the only "religious" one in my immediate family. She introduced me to the church at a very young age, choir and all that. When got older, I stopped going because (I thought) I had better thangs to do. When I went away to college I would visit a church here and there but not nothing constant. My grandmother still went to church faithfully. She and I were extremely close during my college years and I considered her my "direct connec"' to GOD. She prayed with and for me, quoted appropriate bible scriptures for whatever it was I was going through at the time and after talking to grandma, EVERYTHING was OK. Then one day she died and I was VERY lost. As crazy as it may sound but she was my GOD (for that time period). Then I became hungry to find a church home and get closer to GOD because in my mind it got me closer to her (heaven). Now every Sunday I go to church and I feel her presence and she talks to me via my pastor. It may sound crazy but it worked and I have been on a interesting spritual journey. My life has been a better one since I sought to learn the word.

1. I believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, believing that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of sinners
2. I dont really claim "Christianity" as religion however I AM a Christian but I dont like the term religion because a religion is something you practice. And as practice, if I dont go to church one Sunday, that doesnt make me less of a Christian because Im a believer of Jesus Christ. So I prefer the term relationship. You study religion, and while you can study Christianity to some extent, without a relationship with Christ, you will never UNDERSTAND the magnitude of His Glory

1. What is your faith or creed? Follower of Yahshua
2. Do you practice your faith from tradition (eg. parents raised you as a [insert faith]) or do you practice your faith because it's what you discovered to be truth?
a mixture of both .....my parents taught me to respect God but i discovered Yahshua new Years Eve 2001
Bonus: If your faith was discovered, how did you come about it? i was in a gun altercation in downtown Sav. and inthe back of a 1983 caprice classic i asked God to get me out of this mess.......3 days later i was in Va where my life would take a drastic change for the better thank You Yahshua

1. What is your faith or creed? Muslim. Creed: "There is only ONE God; and Muhammad is the LAST prophet/messenger of GOD." 2. Do you practice your faith from tradition (eg. parents raised you as a [insert faith]) or do you practice your faith because it's what you discovered to be truth? Not from TRADITION. My father is a minister; and my mother was a Muslim. Interestingly, my father ATTEMPTED to literally FORCE my siblings and I to be "Christians"; and as most, we simply attended the services and 'faked the Funk'. The OPPOSITE was true for my mother. She NEVER attempted to "make" us embrace ISLAM. She would very calmly [and rationally] suggest us to learn about the belief; and make our decisions [FOR/AGAINST] whenever WE were convinced. Moreover, she never PREACHED her belief, she simply LIVED it; and that was ONE of the defining point and decisive factor for the choices of MOST of my siblings. And I can confidently say: Our relationship with GOD, each other [and mankind, in general], and ourselves has NEVER been better. Furthermore, there is no proselytizing [or, door-knocking conversion attempts] in ISLAM. I can promise, you will NEVER have to worry about a MUSLIM showing up on your front*porch on a Saturday-morning with a Qur'an saying: " Good Morning ! Have you heard of the goodness of Muhammad ?" NOPE. It ain't gon' happen; lol. Matter-of-fact, we are almost forbidden to participate in such activities. If a person should happen to ASK for an explanation in the belief, we SHOULD competently & intelligently convey the message. If the individual comprehends/understands the message; believes/accepts the message, then THEY will accept it without being prompted. The flip-side, if they DON'T understand and/or believe the explanation [or the Muslim failed to adequately convey the message], then we suggest/encourage them to NOT embrace the belief until THEY believe it to be true. I hope that clarifies my position. If not, feel free to request further elucidation.

LOL konfucious. But yeah I feel where you coming from. I mean, me personally as a Christian... I dont bombard people with my beliefs. I feel thats the ultimate turn off because that wouldnt get me interested in ANYTHING!!! Jehovah Witnesses are good for that a lot, but Ive noticed you have to be a leader in your faith by LIVING the words you meditate in your heart and being an example not shoving it down peoples throats.

... you have to be a leader in your faith by LIVING the words you meditate in your heart and being an example not shoving it down peoples throats. EXACTLY !! Or spouting long irrelevant passage from a text; as if that will convince someone. NOT Hence the reason, you will RARELY hear an educated-MUSLIM quoting passages fromthe Qur'an to a non-MUSLIM. I mean, what's the PURPOSE. If you don't believe IT to be the "Word of GOD", then its just senseless ranting, and counter-productive.

"transform the IGNORANCE of the ignorant one(s) so that they will know Yahshua is Lord before it is too late" Whatever, Dude. I am indeed an ALAMO CITY NUPE; and you are a UNIVERSAL NOPE. We established on the LAST OO-Board that you are both a FOOL and a LIAR who resorts to copy/paste of that which you can't even comprehend; specifically, HEBREW !! ; which speaks VOLUMES of why many regard your personal beliefs as TRASH. You can't BULLY me [or any other intelligent person] into BLIND-Belief. " To you be your FOOLISHNESS; and I will continue in the TRUTH of GOD"
