I hope all the OOAers are okay WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) -- At least two people have been killed in a Washington D.C Metro train collision near district's Maryland border during today's rush hour commute. Metro officials say a six-car train has collided with another train and derailed near the Washington, D.C., and Maryland border. Spokeswoman Taryn McNeil says the collision happened about 5 p.m. Monday between the Fort Totten and Takoma Park stations on Metro's red line. Officials did not immediately release information on injuries. Emergency officials are on the scene. Pic from Twitter.

I'm trying to track down folks from the board who work in around the city. Hopefully some of them will come in here and posts. Though I don't think he takes the metro I'm gonna try to check on VP. The only one I know about right now is Priss, and she was near the accident when it happened but not in it. Still checking for Leja and Sapphy as we speak.

Hey All...
Dame thanx for texting me. Yes, Im ok. I was missed my train and was on the train directly behind it. I was in the middle car so I was in the dark for a minute. They finally told us what was going on after about 30 mins. It was very scary and disheartening to hear folks grumbling even AFTER they found out there was a collision. I shed a few tears, mainly at the complete disregard for human life. (tearing up now)
I dont even normally take the red line but my car was being serviced and i had to catch the red to get it. God is good. Pray for those we lost and their families. It is a serious tragedy. I usually take the green and Im always in the first car going to work and the last car going home. I wont be riding in the first or last cars anymore.

Glad to hear you're ok! I am with you...the inhumanity and selfishness is ubiquitous in our society. Don't let it get you down.

Fatalities are up to 9, and they think that number might increase Also, 6 people are critical.

Maybe someone should make a list of OOA people, and then decide who contacts them to make sure they're okay.

Of those I know: DMV folk: Me Damie Melo Sapphy Happy Search I think Melo and I are the only that train it and Melo is fine. Damie drives and Happy lives in the cut so Im pretty sure he drives, Ill see if I can hit him. I think Search updated his FB page recently so I think he's ok. One of my AKA sands lost a close family friend in the crash.

One of my AKA sands lost a close family friend in the crash. I talked with Sapphy - she's okay - she was out of town and her phone wasn't working. I don't know how many of you remember SweetNChic - but she lives in the area and she's o.k. too. I know Eager lives in the area too but I have no contact information for her. I still haven't caught up with VP yet but he usually isn't down around that area. Nothing from Happy yet either
