I've been able to watch the speech on the net...and catch excerpts on CNN here at my desk. I think Pres. Obama has raised the level of intellectualism in this country, and has made it something to be proud of again. Even with that, he speaks in "plain talk," and I think the citizens of Egypt and much of the world appreciate that. How's it said... "If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;"That fits THIS president like a glove! |

Imagine this....8 months ago, then president G.W. Bush goes to an Islamic nation, holds a press conference in a secure media room and has shoes hurled at him.
Just 8 months later, President Obama travels to the cradle of civilization....the nucleus of the Islamic faith...and is received with admiration, resounding applause and standing ovations.
What a difference an election makes!!!

While the rest of the world is rallying around Pres. Obama's speech yesterday, of course the reich-wingnuts are attacking. Ari Fleischer, Bush's speechwriter (an oxymoron within itself,) said that Obama's speech was "too balanced..." WTF? Anyway, Rick Horwowitz wrote this little "diddy" in The Huffington Post today, that I thought sums up the paranoid wing-nuts to a "T." I wish I could take credit for this, but I can't.  What the repugs don’t like about Pres. Obama
They don't like his Broadway shows.
