I think that as we get older we become more and more aware of what we did and what our parents did, but none of it ever killed us. So why be afraid now?
If that's the case kids would have never started drinking from the water hose or share necklace candy. LOL!

@ Cam, i hate slugs. In my old apartment, they use to come through the tub's faucet. I made them move me to another unit on the OTHER side FAR AWAY from the lake. lol

Oh, something else nasty I saw this weekend, by the same woman who washed her mop in the kitchen sink: their pit-bull peed on the three-year-old's bed. I pulled back the sheets, assuming she would WASH THEM. She tucked them back in, saying, "I'll just wipe this up and spray it with a little Febreeze. She'll have a fit if I take her new princess sheets off the bed."
I don't even have kids, but if the dog peed on my precious baby's sheets, I'd strip the bed and bleach them jokers down.

Somebody said that our toilets are cleaner than the kitchen sink. Im just calling bluff on whatever study that suggests that.
I know any time I cook raw meat I put it on a specific cutting board for meat only. I also wipe up the area thoroughly.
I am assuming most people do the same thing. Perhaps they don't.
Im still not buying it.
Probably because it's the way I was raised and not because it's an actual threat. Anywho.
ALso CHALJ I hate the one sponge for everything ESPECIALLY from kitchen to bathroom.
But I hate it within the kitchen too.
If you are wiping up the counter and sanatizing ish---please do not use that same sponge, rag, towel...etc to wash the dishes.
That is mad disgusting to me.
And I realize that a lot of things that we find awful is because they were told to us they we awful. Perhaps there is no problem with doing them.
My little cousin took a cup and drank out of the toilet once when we were children. She is still alive. LOLOLOL
barely.
But that's not important. ;D

and those slugs!!! the first time i saw them, i had worked double shifts all week. It was Friday and I just KNEW i was gonna relax in a nice hot bubble bath with my candles and wine. Went in the to run the water and damn near passed out. Tell me why I paged the EMERGENCY MAINTAINENCE PAGER!!!!!. lol. The guy was seriously tripping off of me when he got there. I'm was like FUQ THAT! Get that shit out of my tub. When it happened again, i went straight to the office. "MOVE ME!!! NOW!!!" lol

I sanatized the sink before and after.

Some of this is making me nausea. OMG. Me, too. There are some truly NASTY folks out there. I need to read this post every time I'm tempted to go eat out. I hate the multipurpose-community sponge thing too!! OMG. I don't get the point. Sponges are CHEAP at Dollar General. Also, I sterilize my sponges by running them through the microwave for 30 seconds every few days--kills germs. And folks who touch raw meat - then wipe their hands on a towel and touch other things. I read somewhere it's a bad idea to wash meat, because it introduces salmonella and e-coli into your sink, which can then spread. I feel some sort of way about eating unwashed meat, though. Can we please delete this thread? No. Hopefully some truly trife, nasty person on this board has read this post and decided to change.  Think of this post as "ministry" or "outreach" of sorts. And I'm tryin' my best to make it into the kingdom. |

College was the place where i really learned that people have different standards of what "clean" means.
Example: I will not wash my clothes (underwear, shirts, pants) with dish towels. Plenty of females will and do.
I happen to think that's unsanitary. Not everybody does.
I also won't wash rugs and bath mats with clothing. The list goes on and on...
I have way too many college roommate stories.

I licked a worm once. I was only 4 but to this day when I think about it, I get ill.
It had rained that day and there were a lot of worms squiggling around on the ground. I picked one up and stared at it for a while and then; for reasons that I am still unable to understand or explain; I licked it.
