I don't think it is necessary to give mean line names. All that does is reveal the dissension in your chapter...we need to keep our drama in house. I can see not putting any real thought into a line name for someone that acted shady, or letting them name themselves, but to actually put that type of stuff on jackets and such, that is too much.

If it winds up on their jacket, its because they put it on there themselve. At least in my chapter...our crossing shirts just had our numbers on them...again, b/c revealing our line names was a personal decision. So if you get a jacked up line name and put it on your jacket, welp....thats on you...certainly hope the chapter isnt going to waste money on that.

I thought they were saying that some people were given jackets with these names on them. We had private names and public names. There were some things that we were called during our sessions that were based off activities that happened there. Before we crossed the Big Sisters would give us names that were suitable for our para. I hated my public name, it was just stupid I thought. I would have rather had my private name be my public name. I don't wear anything with my line name on it--of course I am about to celebrate 22 years at the end of this month so I guess I am getting to old for busy para anyway.

LOL....right a line name and an alias.... I feel you. I only have 10 years and I dont wear para anymore...it looks kinda cheesy to me now...lol....then again, I didnt wear alot of para after I crossed either. Maybe a bag every now and then but I didnt even wear my line jacket for more than a year.

I went to a Zeta probate where the neos didn't like the names their big sisters gave them, so when they probated they had totally different names on their shirts that they had given to each other. We could tell that their big sisters were not happy.

I think this should be retitled Meanest Line Names Ever. ROFLMAO! My chapter was notorious for giving harsh line names...b/c it was indicative of the process. Generally, they had a double meaning and werent so bad that you couldnt put them on a jacket but anyone from the chapter would instantly know what the "true" meaning was. We generally dont share our line/ship name outside of the chapter and if you do it was a collective line decision to do so. My line opted to abbreviate ours cause that ish is BAD....lol...but so is just about every other line after the Charter line so.... lol Sharing your individual line name is optional. LOL. We had a girl in we named Girl 6.. cause she talked to us like she was having phone sex or something.. her voice just had that tone. And the most mean name we had was DUB... she still dont know what it mean... its because we thought she was slow and kinda dumb... DUB is short for W.C. which is short for Wheel Chair... she thought it was gangsta, after that rapper dude.. esp when we made her sing that song "You draped up and dripped out know what im talking bout"... <~ remembering the blue wheelchair drawn on her back! oh, the good times
