I received this by e-mail and wanted to share it with you all. I hope it blesses you today.
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21
Over the last five months or so, our government has gotten in the business of trying to bailout our economy and businesses that have suffered because of the economy and bad business policies in the area of almost a Trillion dollars.
I do not want to get into the political issues on that because I know there are people who disagree with my opinions, and as I focus on the spiritual issues, I really begin to care less what happens. We are aliens in this world. We are not citizens of this country, rather we are citizens of a heavenly Kingdom. What happens on Capital Hill greatly affects us, but God has ultimate control and authority.
Through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, God gave us a Spiritual Bailout. He took the righteousness of Christ and applied that to us. Through bad decisions, we dug a deep hole for ourselves.
We have failed to love God the way He deserves. We have not been thankful the way we should. We taken Him for granted. We have lied, stolen, lusted, cheated, coveted, blasphemed, disrespected our parents, hated others and been greedy. All of these sins built up the wrath of God upon us. They made us recipients of His fierce anger. They made us enemies of God.
It is appointed once for man to die and then face judgment. And God will judge the world according to righteousness.
But “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus’ appeased the wrath of God. He took the full anger of God and satisfied it so that we may legally be forgiven. God then took the righteousness of Jesus and applied it to those who repent of their sins and place their faith (trust) in the promises of Jesus.
God did for us what we could not do ourselves. We received a Spiritual Bailout.
Today, I want to encourage you to think about your Spiritual Bailout. Thank God for what He has done for you. Let His actions motivate you to live accordingly.
God bless you. You are salt and light. Let your light shine and words speak.
