MIRROR ON THE WALL
Prior to 1913, every AKA would end the night by going
to the mirror and asking;
"Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the first and best of
them all?’
and the mirror would reply
Why it is my dear AKA this true,
the first and the best will always be you
For your faithfulness to community service
which has made a difference on todays society.
I grant you the distintion of wisdom and simplicity.
The AKA went to bed happy and at peace
Years went by and this was said repeatedly until one
particlar Friday.
The AKA’s woke up that morning to find that one of her
"sisters" Myra insisted on adding all these new members
who didn’t eximplify being a distinguished woman of AKA.
She also wanted to change numerous things
everything that they had worked so hard to get done. The
mirror disagreed, and in a rage Myra cracked the mirror in
two halves.
The mirror was upset but not surprised of her actions and
both halves began to say;
You are cursed on this day forward for breaking me in
two.
Friday the 13th I mark this uncivilize being which is
what you see in front of you.
Alpha Kappa Alpha women are known for being the finest and
yet they still accepted you.
And to show your appreciation this is what you do?
Pack up your things and gather the rest of your crew
Because of this, you will NOT be leaders but followers in
the numbers of 22.
You will be called the women of DST.
You will be a cheap mockery of AKA for disobeying me.
Oh yes a big mistake you have made and will try to hide.
0o-oops is now your call which is what a mistake
symbolize.
By this time the Deltas had realized what they had done
but still didn’t acknowledge their wrong doing.
The Mirrors continued now focusing on the remaining
faithful leaders of Alpha Kappa Alpha and said......
I am only bestowing this punishement on you for giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Because you know high morals and values is a neccessity, and thats they should’ve been voted out.
You will be responsible to be the elite example of true
womanhood
You will repeat the history to them until it is finally
understood
You will be responsible to clean up and pick up mess that they
create.
This will show true sisterhood of AKA in which they will
try to imitate.
They will have all these chants belittling others and...oh yes including you too
And still then you will proudly say nothing because I expect
more out of you.
You will be rewarded because of your dedication to AKA and
the goals of bettering mankind.....
Oppose to their 260,000 members not even half
will remain active...so lets keep that in mind.
By this time the AKA’s felt sorry for the forsaken girls and
told them to run.
But the punishment was already spoken and the damage was
done.
The AKA women pleaded to the mirrors to spare the women
of this grave punishment
The mirrors said they would only take back the curse if
the Deltas made a vow?..
The Delta girls reluctantly gave in while holding up their
mirror of shame which was in shape of a pyramid then vowed
the following....
My pyramid will go up so AKA’s can see.
It is their mirror of shame
For accepting me irresponsibly
I will stomp like and elephant and oo-oop out loud.
Because AKA’s dont understand stupidity so speakin to them is
never allowed.
We will not make up stories and deny the things we’ve hid.
we will always advise others not to make the same mistake
we did.
Years later these women are still rebellious and in denial
which is why we still have Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
Incorporated.!!!!!!
Because they didn’t stick to their vow.
