The Matchups:
East 1Boston vs. 8Atlanta 4Cleveland vs. 5Washington 3Orlando vs. 6Toronto 2Detroit vs. 7Philadelphia
West 1 LA Lakers vs. 8Denver 4Utah vs. 5Houston 3San Antonio vs. 6Phoenix 2New Orleans vs. 7Dallas
Who do you pick to take it all? See any potential upsets?
I'll be honest...I can't even call the West this year. The Lakers are my pick right now...but their defense disappears at times. I've been under the impression that Andrew Bynum would return and help, but thats looking less and less likely as time passes.
I think Cleveland could beat Boston in the 2nd round. I think Dallas and Phoenix can both pull off "upsets" in the 1st round.

Every basketball bone in my body wants to see Lakers v. Celtics ;D
If I were a betting man, I'd bet a substantial amount that Washington takes out the Cavs, b/c they're a one man team... other than that, I'd like to see the Hornets go far.

Good win by San Antonio. I'm still picking Phoenix to win the series, but Shaq has to stay out of foul trouble. Amare made a bad play on his 6th foul. If he simply takes that open 15 footer, the Suns probably win.

I'm not discounting the Spurs. They are the defending champions. People forget this glaring fact.
An L.A. vs. Boston series really doesn't intrigue me. I understand that the league had to battle a PR nightmare with the officiating being called into question in regards to gambling, and this series could help the league given that both teams have had historic rivalries. Of course, both teams contain marketable superstars, but they don't have the flair and appeal of Magic and Bird.
During Magic's and Bird's time, L.A. vs. Boston was highly anticipated throughout the entire decade. First of all, Magic and Bird literally saved the league. We witnessed all-time legends who could inspire a generation with creative passing, clutch shooting, fast breaks, mad hustle, fundamentals, and team play. People loved watching those two legends play.
For all of Kobe's and KG's dominant individual play, neither of whom makes me want to watch basketball. I don't think they are as charismatic, nor do they have the leadership capabilities of Magic and Bird. Neither of whom can perenially carry a team on his back to championship contention the way Magic and Bird could. Neither of whom elevated the play of his teammates the way Magic and Bird could. These are reasons why an L.A. vs. Boston series doesn't interest me.
Having said all of this, I would like to see KG win a championship. This is the best team he has ever had, and they have played on a championship level just about all season.

It'll come down to the Spurs and the Lakers in the west.
The network is praying real hard for a Lakers/Celtics finals...and I must admit, it would be quite entertaining to see those two old rivals go at it again. But as I say every year this time (and some want to dismiss it,) the Spurs ascend to another level during the playoffs, and that classic vs. Phoenix on Saturday was an example of that. No way in hell Phoenix should have LOST that game...it looked like an NBA version of the NCAA championship game when Memphis had it in their grasp, and didn't know how to hold on to it.
As far as the title for 2008, I'm really feeling the Celtics right about now despite whomever comes out of the west.
Should be a very interesting and entertaining post season.

CP3 is sick. and did anyone see Dwight Howard's numbers? 25 and 22?? In the playoffs?? and the dude is only 22.
and the Lakers will continue to bust the Nuggets' azzes (and everyone else in the west).
Why does Deshaun Stevenson and his Taliban beard think that he's even in Lebron's league? and lol at Soulja Boy being offended at Lebron's comparison of Stevenson to Soulja boy.

Chris Paul had 32 and 17 last night...he shouldn't even be allowed to play anymore...Dallas should ask the Supreme Court to call what he did to them last night "Cruel and Unusual" Punishment. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't sleep on the Hornets ya'll...CP3 is doing things that Magic, Isaiah and Jordan could never do. YEAH! I said it!

I have to admit...his first 2 games were the most impressive point guard performances I've ever seen, and that includes Magic and Isaiah. He is so far ahead of Steve Nash and Jason Kidd right now, its not even funny. He should be the MVP.

as much as i watch his highlights, he still manages to impress me more and more each game. It's like he's playing in a different gear than the other team. and he just does otherwise ridiculous stuff sometimes and makes it work.

Basically... J. Kidd looks average at best verses cp3...during game one, when CP was taking Kidd apart, he looked over at Avery Johnson and said "He can't guard me"...lol... I know Avery Johnson was ticked off, cuz frankly, he was right The worst part of this whole scenario for Dallas is, Devin Harris is a waaaaaay better on ball defender than J. Kidd. He's quicker, more agile and has longer arms. How you like that trade now Cuban???

Phoenix is DONE, and the Suns are about to set!!
They can go ahead and get their dry cleaner to put their road uniforms in the steam bath. After the next two games, they can put their home uniforms in there with them.
The Spurs are on another level...plain and simple! The only way to stop Tony Parker will be to KILL HIM! And after you kill him, you'll still have G-I-N-O-B-I-L-I! to deal with!!

Kidd's career. I've never felt so sorry for a millionaire in my life. NO POINT GUARD IN THEIR RIGHT MIND wants to see CP3 and Nawlins...T. Parker knows he got a grade A butt whoopin coming his way...lol. Duncan vs. D. West Parker vs. Mr. MVP CP3 This is gonna be a great series...Nawlins in 6 tho ;D
