I'm trying not to get too excited about the Cardinals starting 5-1. They are my favorite team but I didn't expect much with all of their pitching rotation on the disabled list.

yeah...I usually wait till all star break to get happy...but in the NL...ANYTHING can happen (like the Rockies taking it all) so, as long as Winnie the Pujols stays healthy you guys have a solid chance at it...especially if your starting pitching stays healthy.

Oh...but imagine the Yanks started out 0-6...it'd be on Sportscenter every minute! They'd be saying how this is the beginning of a demise. I bet it won't be more than 30 seconds on Sportscenter tomorrow, (The Tigers starting 0-6)

@ Lister... Ya boy Pedro went limp again...smh...but Maine and Santana should be able to carry you guys.
Oh and the tigers look sloppy overall I agree. Its not just that they lost, but from watching last nights game...they're playing terrible Defense their body language looks like they know they're gonna lose. In all sports, baseball especially, confidence is EVERYTHING...D-Train still has nasty stuff, but his confidence is at the basement...Verlander too. Leyland needs a spark in the clubhouse, and it doesn't get any easier for them coming up.
They're going into Fenway tonight for a 3 game set. Personally, I'd love to see them sweep the Red Sux, but in all reality, they'll be lucky if they grab one.

here we go ;D lol... every time we start talking baseball you bring up our rotation...lol. Maybe you missed my main man Wang's gem performance yesterday. We still stack up pretty nice. 1. Wang 2. Pettite 3. Hughes 4. Kennedy 5. Moose Okay...the Moose is looking shaky, and Kennedy didn't look too solid out there either on his first start, but hey, he's a kid, he'll balance out. If he gets hit hard his next time out, then I'll start to get a little nervous, but I'm not worried. Oh, but our bullpen is practiacally unhittable. We've found the bridge to Mo and his name is Joba Chamberlain ladies and gentlemen! Now if we could ever get stupid Kyle Farnsworth to pitch 2 good games in a row we'd be rolling!

yessir.... and it taint looking pretty for their future either... I was one of the guys thinking Detroit would be better than 0-7. It's a 155 games left..... I think they're pressing. After about 35-40 games, if they're not playing at least.500 ball, it might be time to press the panic button. They're line-up is something that cannot be ignored...and when D-Train gets his confidence back, it should all be fine. I could give a fvck, really though. The toughest division in all of baseball is the NL West and I'm a Padres fan, so I have bigger fish to fry....lol

@ Epun... You BUGGIN! The toughest division is the NL West...paaaaaaaleeeaaaze! Man the Yanks would win 130 games in that division. No NL division is tough because the NL sucks...lol...thats why they lose every all star game and only win the world series 1 out of every 10 years. @ Lister... See, I thought we were gonna play nice this year...but I see you Met fans have no tact! lol. Jeter's out, Posada's out and the Bombers ALWAYS start slow... all YOU need to worry about is making sure you guys don't have another historic MELTDOWN...lol. Yeah, I said it

The last year in the Stadium that Ruth Built will be #27! Oh and the Best SS's in the NL are in the NL EAST...Kahlil Green can't stand in the same arena as Reyes or Hanley Ramirez...and you know thats the truth! Take Peavy and put him in the AL East and his ERA would easily be in the mid to high 3's. And thats REAL TALK! @troopa...enjoy April baseball while you can...when the summer rolls around... your beloved Royals will be 20 games out of first...lol. But for real for real...you guys have A LOT of young talent...I don't know if you guys are gonna pay to keep them, but you definitely have an upside if you actually invest in your team.

The best SS in the game plays for that team just south of ya'll and north of Baltimore ;D....yeah nigga, THAT team...THAT SS!...and he'll tell you there's not many that can glove like Greene... Now run along and go listen the Mike and Mad Dog talk all damn day about the Yanks and Mets like they the only two teams in the MLB....b/c that's where it sounds like you get your baseball info homie.... LOL @ Mike and the Mad Dog... ( I do listen to that show btw...lol)
I'll admit... I don't watch too much NL West baseball... BUT the reason Peavy's #'s in interleague play are good is because Pitchers always have the advantage against guys they see once every 3 years.... ANY baseball guy should know that! ;D

LOL!...now you damn well that challenge is weak..why you ask? Because... 1. The same could be said in reverse; that Peavy could have a bad ERA during inter-league b/c he doesn't face AL hitters day in and day out... 2. The AL dominates the Inter-League, AllStar and WS games, so that gives further proof that seeing Peavy every three years or w/e doesn't hold water... 3. A fastball and good slider is the same whether Peavy throws it or Santana throws it...if you can't catch up to the heater or the tilt, then you just can't...AL or NL I can go on my friend.... Also, you GOTTA stop listening to Mike and the Mad Dog....actually, Mad Dog is cool, but Mike Francesca is class A fvcking asshole at best..and a contradicting hypocrite one at that....oh, don't let me leave out racist. I heard his bullshit regarding the difference in Clemens and Bonds steroid abuse...and the way he trashed Sheffield. I hated that dude when I was there...Finally, he doesn't know shit about baseball ;D

lol... actually I never liked Mike myself... he's always mumbling something...and I wouldn't be surprised if he's a closet racist...lol... but I don't ever watch them more than once a week when nothing else is on...but back to the topic... (and my challenge).
1. Hitting is probably the hardest thing to do in professional sports. With all the things you have to process in milliseconds, familiarity with a pitchers arm angle, release point etc. make hitting easier. For that reason alone, hitters across the board do better against a pitcher the 2nd and 3rd time through the order.
For this reason, if the Padres play the Red Sox, Manny Ramirez for example hasn't seen him in years and stepping into the batters box is waaaaay different from studying film. Imagine if Manny faced him 7 times a year for the last 7 years...it would be a waaaay different story. But in interleague play, he steps in unsure of arm angle, how much his slider bites, speed etc. and is at a disadvantage. B/c he hasn't had time to figure him out.
Thats why Dontrelle, Verlander and Bonderman all from the Tigers were so effective early in their career, but now, not so much, guys couldn't figure them out. But now their ERA's are like good gpa's...lol (Translation... 4.0's)
Thats why Mariano (yes I had to throw some Yankee love in here) is such a freak. Basically one pitch, facing the same teams over and over again, and he's still the best one doing it. AND PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME ANY TREVOR HOFFMAN GARBAGE! LOL... I feel you about to throw ya boy in there now! But even that would strengthen my argument.
Your right about a pitch being a pitch, regardless of who throws it....but in the NL you always have one less skilled hitter in the lineup since you face pitchers. IMO the DH should be league wide since we are in the era of specialization.
You know how it feels to climb in the box vs. someone you've never seen as opposed to someone you've seen a million times. Unless he's just filthy...lol...you'll feel better vs. him than you would a new guy... c'mon, you gotta admit that! ;D

Unless he's just filthy...lol...you'll feel better vs. him than you would a new guy... c'mon, you gotta admit that! ;D 1. Agreed, however, please explain why such a good hitters in the AL had a .215 batting average against Santana before he was traded to the NL?..Facing a pitcher 2, 3 times....or 15 times doesn't mean a thing if you ain't got that swing, LOL! 2. You're Manny example...I understand your angle, but how would you explain his .235 average against a certain Yankee pitcher whose past his prime ;D? I mean, how many times does the Sox face the Yanks in a year, right?.... 3. Dontrelle has confidence issues. I heard on ESPN (I agree with this assesment as well) that once Dontrelle gets his mojo back, it'll be different. He's the hardest pitcher in the league to hit against once his shit is on. But he's throwing 92 mph up and over the strike zone....my 10 year-old could take that deep. So I don't think he's been "figured out" yet. He's throwing meatballs, simple as that.... 4. So if you claim Mariano is still the best doing it in spite of pitching in the AL all of his career, then how does your Dontrelle/Verlander argument hold up? Couldn't this happen to Manny even if he faced Peavy 6 times a year? Regarding the DH....it's fundamentally the most stupidest rule in baseball, and that's why the AL is flawed. The NL is forced, night in and night out to execute strategy with a pitcher in the lineup. Your 8 hole hitter is fvcked every nite b/c he knows with men on base and one out, the opposing manager will pitch around him and go after the pitcher..... In the AL, the eight hole is like batting second for the love of God!...or anywhere in the line-up if you bat in front of a DH like Big Poppy....AL baseball is **pussified! **"Pussified"- 1.A new term coined by EPUN to describe a kindler and gentler side to sports and bitch-ass niggas 2. also used to describe the cowardice and unmanly approach to the way the AL of the MLB plays baseball 3. Term is also used appropriately to describe the Yankees, ex: "The Yankees are soft, they play pussified baseball"
To your last paragraph, personally, if I'm seeing Peavy all day and he owns me, I'd much rather see new fish on the line coming out of the bullpen...I'll take my chances on middle relief..lol! Good shyt Jay! *fvcking attorney's....you can never win with these frickin guys*
