sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3257159So as it turns out Ben Wallace and Wally Scerbiak are on their way to Cleveland...and the Hornets got Bonzi wells and Mike James, so they got some more depth... Does this make this upcoming more "interesting" in your opinion?

I don't see that trade helping Cleveland. Wally is on the downside of a mediocre career, Ben peaked while playing with my Pistons and while Donte West helps from a ballhandling perspective, I would have kept Larry and dumped Damon Jones, outside of being Lebron's hype man, he doesn't bring defense or much offense to the table...

The balance of power is still in the west. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded out a 2Ghz pentium processor for a 2Ghz Athlon processor. They didn't get any better or worse, they just got "different" IMO. Maybe slightly better defensively with Wallace rebounding but overall not much difference.

I'm loving the NBA right now. I like the moves for Cleveland. Wally can shoot, and Joe Smith is a better player than Drew Gooden anyway. Wallace will solidify the frontcourt D and rebounding.

you think Cleveland will get back to the chip?

Cleveland has as good a chance at any team. Not because of the trades, but because they have the best player in the East. Lebron was the reason they beat the Pistons last year, and if they beat the Pistons/Celtics this year it will be because of Lebron.

this is a GREAT NBA season so far... I'm LOVING all of these moves, counter-moves and the resurgence of some new teams...i.e. Boston and New Orleans. Personally, I wanna see Lebrezee back in the championship vs. Kobe... I would watch EVERY SECOND of that final...lol

Boobie was the main reason along with lack of coaching from Flip Saunders...he flat out sucks in playoff games...

He helped, but its a stretch to say he was the main reason. Out of the 6 games he only scored in double figures twice. And almost all of his shots are wide open as a result of LBJ being double teamed. Lebron was the main reason.

The Jason Kidd trade has got to be the worst trade ever.....Mark Cuban really did blow this one!! smh...

I agree...it was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY... Harris is improving year by year...and Kidd is declining.
I see it like this...in my fantasy basketball league...whenever someone does a trade, without fail, I feel the urge to make a deal. Cuban saw everyone making a deal so he got an itch in his trigger finger. He's an impulsive dude...lol...they'll still finish AT BEST 4th in the west behind LA, San Antonio, Phoenix and at probably New Orleans.

4th in the West would be good for Dallas. Had Dallas not made this trade, I think they were looking at 6th at best. Remember, this is a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs last year. I think Kidd gets them to the 2nd round at least. His production is actually not declining at all.

Yao is reportedly out for the season...I feel bad for Houston. They were on a 12 game winning streak and rolling.

Broken foot. He's gone. And as far as I'm concerned so are the Rockets.

Honestly I was never worried about the Rockets.... I knew it was only a matter of time before Yao or T-Mac got hurt.

Yao plays ALL YEAR ROUND between the NBA and the Chinese summer leagues... If I'm the Rockets GM, I DEMAND that he not play for the Chinese national team ever again. The body needs time to heal and ya boy wasn't getting it.

I'm using this thread for random NBA thoughts, lol.
Chris Paul owns Steve Nash. If NO is somehow matched up with Phoenix in the 1st round, I think the Hornets would win. I agree with whoever said that Phoenix's defensive problems start with Nash. He is KILLED by the elite point guards in the West.

Man all I know is the trade for Shaq to Phoenix, has made me a monster on NBA Live. My brother cannot stop Shaq and Amare down low...... with Nash and Barbosa running circles around his guards...

Cleveland needs to start Joe Smith. He is the most efficient shooter they have. By far. He damn sure doesnt need to be behind Drew Gooden. I know ol Drew signed a big contract, but he doesnt have Joes numbers.

Boston, Detroit, and Cleveland are alright... but damn the best basketball being played in the world right now is all in the Western Conference. It's just crazy. Finally NBA action is fantastic again.

I think that people will look back on this era as being a "golden age," sort of like we do with the era of Jordan, Magic, Bird, Olajawon, etc. This is the most excited I've been about the NBA since MJ retired.
