WOW! So the plug was pulled. We get no finale?!?!?!?!
I did find it odd that they ran two new shows of it back to back Monday.

I'm glad. It hasn't been good since Toni Childs left!

Now, they could have at least done a finale. I had lost interest in the show once Toni left, and found the story lines to be reaching.

I knew it wouldn't last long after the merger, plus they lost one of the cornerstones of the show AND it's been on forever AND The Game is becoming more popular.

I know that is was losing appeal after Toni left, but being that it was a very popular and award winning show, they could've at least had the decency to have a finale show or atleast let the fans know.
This would've never happened to "Friends" or "Frasier" or "Cheers"

Chile, you know how they do us! Why do you think there were the contract disputes between the studio (during the merger) and the cast in the first place?? They treat our actors and actresses like crap (and us, too) and because we are so hungry for "our" entertainment we take it.
I am not in the least bit surprised.

Networks have generally done that to "black" TV shows...see "a different world" for an example...the jeffersons and more than a few shows that had more than a few season on the air. Now did Girlfriends reach a larger audience than originally thought? yep, young women from a variety of racial backgrounds watched the show...but to execs at the studio, it comes down to what shows get the premium ad dollars not the big audience numbers.

no! A different world bowed out gracefully. That is what i am talking about. The finale show was sad but good and it was decent for the fans.
What i am talking about is the abrupt endings. No one knew that g-friends was done.
Every show, doesnt matter black or white owes their fans some sort of warning and a finale show. And for g-friends to be that successful and appealing they could've had a finale show.
I dont care about budgets and the bickering that may go on behind the scenes - they should be allowed to bow out gracefully.

I haven't watched it in a min either 'cuz it hasn't been good. However, I do agree the decent thing to do would have been to have a finale!

There was a big letter writing campaign to get that done... Girlfriends will get a finale if enough fans write in...the question is will enough women write in vs the amount of negroes that tune to flavor of love 3, mtb4 and the rest of negro tv that is out there...

Thank god...I'm so happy this show is over. I'm a little upset not to see Joan get married, but I am happy that she got engaged...even though she messed it up with like 10 other dudes. LOL! The plot was not really going anywhere, so I'm not sad to see it go...bring on another sterotypical show for the colored people.

They say there are eight additional episodes in the can. Ya'll just have to write them to get them aired.

I knew it would not be long before they cancelled it. I missed Toney anyways and it was not good with out her on the contrary if they are to shoot a Series Finale Then Toney should Back as A Bridesmaid in Jones Wedding And Monica should Have The Baby So This Will Be An Entertaining Hour
