"It's over," Noonan said. When Chuck Todd asked her if this was the most qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this political bullshit about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it." Prissy I wish you could see some of these other boards were Republicans are trying in vain to convince others and themselves that THIS was the pick that they wanted and that they're happy with it.
This is one of the WORST picks ever - and what makes it worse is that some will impute that to her being a female - rather than just a REALLY bad candidate.
He hasn't really energized his base, he's made them panic (and for some) to throw in the towel conceding that this race is over.

I am loving every minute of it. I constantly refresh Huffingtonpost and TPM to check for new information. The stuff is coming in every few hours. This is great!!!

The other thing I am noticing is that the media is getting annoyed with these foolish talking points. They used to let a lot of this stuff pass. Chris Matthews is grilling a republican spokesperson right now, he is accusing the media of piling on and Chris is making him name specifically who is piling on. I saw a CNN anchor earlier (can't remember her name) grilling another one.

It's about time. McCain is intent on playing from the old playbook and he's going to lose because of it. Anger and bluster are not substitutes for answering a question. People are not going to back off the questions that need to be asked simply because you bristle and get prickly. That's the politics of the past. The narrative that the "media is out to get you" because they insist on asking important questions that you can't/or don't want to answer - just isn't going to wash.
Explain what her qualifications are, if you can't - then EXPLAIN why John McCain selected her. If her credentials were obvious we wouldn't be asking (see Joe Biden). They're not obvious - if you yourself can't even enumerate them... then dammit you owe the American public an explanation for why you made the pick.

Here is what makes me so angry about all of this.
Whether they think Obama has enough experience or not, the fact remains that over 18 million people voted for him. He has set records month over month in his fundraising; mostly from small donors. That is the American public making the statement that we have confidence in his abilities. You simply cannot compare Obama and Palin.
Palin was selected by one man, and we are supposed to just take McCain's word for it that she is qualified? He only talked to her once before offering her the job. So now when the press asks what should be simple questions, they are attacked and accused of victimizing Palin. Now they just want to change the subject. I am offended by all these republicans, most of whom really don't believe that she is a good pick, who are now touting Palin's credentials like she is really a talented politician. They know better, but winning is more important than doing what is right for the country. They should be very afraid of McCain's judgement and the last thing any of them should want is to have him as CIC.
