Is this treason?

Seems that Caribou Barbie was a member of the Alaska Independence Party; a group that was formed with the sole purpose of seceding from the US. Didn't the north already whup up on the south for those same activities? Is this treason?

This seems worth digging into a bit. The Alaska Independence Party, which was formed with the goal of seceding from the union and establishing Alaska as an independent state, says that Palin addressed their 2008 convention.

The AIP has posted video of what it claims is her address on its Web site.

It's hard to gauge how fringe the group is. Its Website features this quote from one of its founders:

"The problem with you John Birchers' is that you are too damn liberal!"

...and here's AIP's list of goals:

Until we as Alaskans receive our Ultimate Goal, the AIP will continue to strive to make Alaska a better place to live with less government interference in our everyday lives.
The Alaskan Independence Party's goal is the vote we were entitled to in 1958, one choice from among the following four alternatives:

1) Remain a Territory.

2) Become a separate and Independent Nation.

3) Accept Commonwealth status.

4) Become a State.


The party says its not a fringe party anymore, but this "Ultimate Goal" stuff seems pretty kooky. And it is still describing this as a goal: "Become a separate and independent nation."

Someone made this same point in the comments below the article. Sometimes those comments are better than the actual articles, the people on there are hilarious.

But it is true, all Wright said was G-d America and that still has people questioning whether Obama loves America or not. In this case she was an active member of a group that wants to leave the US, lets see how much her patriotism is questioned.

Some also questioned if this is why it was so important for her to give birth in Alaska rather than do the smart thing and go to a hospital in Tx when her water broke.

While that MAY be true, she has associated with that group, and welcomed them to some redneck conference they had up there. Not only that, her "duuuuude" is a member of that august body of patriots.

She needs to be held under the same scrutiny for her ASSOCIATION with these people the same way Obama was. That's the schit that makes my blood boil!!

The media is walking on eggshells where this gal is concerned, and I want the democrats and SOMEONE to call them out on it!!

When the New Yorker magazine had Barack and Michelle on the cover with turbans and AK-47's, I don't remember too many complaints about media bias.

Sarah Palin is America's Hockey mom. She is the example that so many white women (YEAH I SAID IT! ) are saying they wish their daughters could aspire to.

Michelle Obama with a an undergrad degree from Princeton, Law Degree from Harvard, 300K per year job, and two daughters is simply "uppity".

Even if something like this does surface, I am starting to think it won't matter.

When Rev Wright first popped on the scene, reporters converged on that church, calling the folks from the sick and shut in list to try to get more information. Fox News was especially helpful; they not only played the snippets over and over, but they also invited "experts" on to discuss the dangers of the black liberation theology (whatever that is).

This should be a major red flag. One of the heads of that group is on tape saying that Palin was a member but switched to republican when she ran for governor. He was also saying that he wanted her to win the governors race. One of the groups strategies is to infiltrate the major political parties to further their agenda. This woman with ties to a secessionist group could be a heartbeat away from the presidency and no one thinks this is worthy of serious press coverage.
