Bush just finished speaking....
The US is sending military forces into Georgia on "humanitarian mission"
They will also be sending air and naval forces to the area to show solidarity with the Georgian government agains the Russians.
Can anyone say "Cold War II"?

I mean...Georgia started this chyt, right? They bombed the chyt out of a small province of Georgia that is looking to rejoin with Russia. Russia said, "Hayle naw" and hit back. Now Georgia is crying that Russia hit them too hard.
WTF? We're buying into this because Georgia has an oil pipeline going right through it.

I thought the Russians had pulled out of Georgia? At least that's what they said on the news last night? I wonder when Americans will realize that we are the biggest terrorists in the world?

Russia is sitting over there like "Make me". US doesn't want to tangle with that

Actually this is all posturing. No one wants to get it popping with the nukes to be honest. This is about flexing muscle and showing the world that they still matter while serving notice to the US. The US is playing itself becaue Georgia was wilding out and then Russia set it on their arses and now they crying. They (Georgia) are doing a lot of what Saddam and Slobadan Molesivic(spelling?) were doing with the ethnic cleansing stuff. We need to be consistent. Just because they are a "democracy" doesn't mean we need to cosign their mess and make our already tenuous relationship with russia more awkward. :smh:

I apologize upfront for being so clueless and not up on my foriegn country affairs. Okay I know about the thing in Russia/Georgia. I know about the finger pointing on who fired first and all that. Here's my ignorance, do we as a country have anything to do with what's going on over there? I mean do we have troops over there (prior to this) that was threatned/waged upon? Seriously ya'll, I really don't know. What business do we have over there?

Our involvement is we are trying to spread democracy and helped Georgia set their government up thus we support them when they get in trouble but we are on some real BS.

Interesting timing don't you think. Im not referring to the Olympics either.
Obama is really going to have to show America how strong he is on foreign affairs. Since he is the likely candidate to win the presidency, he will be inheriting not only the IRAQ/AFHGHAN/BIN LADEN war but now one with RUSSIA. I don't know what he really can say that is appropriate since he is not now President BUT...McCain and his military experience changes the flow of things...Don't you guys think?
I almost wonder how intentional this is...while I would hate to believe that nations would intentionally put their citizens lives at risk...anything is possible!
