Beyonce doesn't even understand the connection. She just wants to play a singer in a movie. Watch when she says, "I was totally differnt from myself. That wasn't me up there, I became Etta!" She is a mess.

OK, did Etta James sing "At Last"? I'm trying to get the voice here. I don't know too much about Etta James, I guess I will Google her.
But, as far as Beyonce and her acting, she did pretty good in Dream Girls. With Pink Panter, she hadn't had much acting experience nor coaching.

Etta James had a hard life that I dont think Beyonce can pull off...I cant see Bee doing the scenes where Etta was strung out as well as the scenes where Etta was dangerously overweight...

My daughter's godfather and wife chose "At Last" as their wedding song. The fact that Beyonce is slated to portray Ms. James makes me very, very sad.  |

Yes, Beyonce is talented and wants to be considered a triple threat but this particular movie, might be a problem. She should attempt to expand her horizons and portray a different type of character.

This is not about hating on "B", but a suggestion to expand her acting career beyone portrarying one type of role. Its too soon behind the Dreamgirls to attempt to take on Etta James. Will she do a good job? Time will tell.
