whoever thought it was a good idea to film a whole movie with the camera of someone in the movie should have their azz beat.
All of this running and falling all over the place is making my head hurt cause I can't see nothing!
My rant is over now...

that's exactly what I heard/read. People who saw it said the camera made them dizzy. I still plan to check it out for curiosity's sake.

The concept of the movie is great. I won't say anything about what I didn't like about the movie to avoid giving away anything. Just take some dram (seriously) and you'll enjoy the movie.
<---= was dizzy for 2 days after watching <---='s lady threw up <---= knows several people threw up after the movie

So it has that Blair Witch Project effect? Interesting. I think that was the only reason why the movie was full of suspense. Would you say that the camera work added something to the movie or was it unnecessary?

I for one liked the camera work. I'm still at a loss as to how they filmed it.
I liked the campiness of it. Although homegirl should have taken he shoes off at the beginning, but I understand.
I thought of the Blair Witch Project when I began to see the fervor over this film.
It was pretty good. I even like the ending.

When the camera work makes more than half the audience sick I think that's a problem. Some of the scenes were jumpy for no good reason. They've already been talking about a sequel which is told from another camera angle (probably by the military or goverment in a documentary style) with FAR less camera jump.

I didn't get sick.
I am interested in the sequel. It's certainly set up for one.

I saw it on the internet so I could not imagine seeing all that on a big screen. I like that some movies are filmed like that because you get to see it from their eyes but some scenes were just tooooooo much. I'm turning my head, rewinding, squinting my eyes, making my eyes wide, etc.
IDK....maybe some scenes could have been filmed the regular way or through someone else's POV. It was better than I expected though.

I just assumed there would be because the movie leaves alot unexplained. The first movie gives you all carnage no explanation. The next movie is likely to be told the same way (except from a military or researcher's perspective who has more insight on where the monster came from and why it attacked) and hopefully the screen will be less jostled since it should be a story told from people professionally making a documentary. I'm sure they'd add some stuff we didn't see, explain some stuff that was never explained, and you can expect cameo appeareances from the original cast as they enter into the storyline. This movie is tailor made for at least one sequel, but they could do 2 installments.
1 to explain what we didn't understand by watching the first movie and 1 to explain how they finally defeat the monster. 3 movies total.

I say go all out and bring Godzilla into the mix and let him and the monster duke it out all over NYC.....yeah, Godzilla. I think Godzilla would beat its ass! now how you work that in and make it plausible, I have no clue. but hey, the writers are back at work and maybe they can come up with something....

I'on know. Godzilla seemed alot more fragile than this beast. It's just running around the city taking tank shells and 50 calibre machine gun fire as well as having bombs dropped on it...
...and it's skin wasn't even burned or scarred. Godzilla would have his hands full.

true dat. Colverfield was taking a pounding and shakin' that shit off. but I think Godzilla would have him beat with intellect. Godzilla thinks and is smart. Plus, he's quick and agile (for his size) and has the atomic fire breath thing going. Not sayin' that Cloverfield would just roll over but I believe Godzilla outsmarts him some kinda way in the end....

All Cloverfield seemed to have was the mindless rampage so maybe Godzilla could get him.
