www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrwvDBdzprw&feature=relatedI miss this kind of music. I LOVED the R&B from the 80s and 90s...Pebbles, Karyn White, Troop, Al B. Sure, Climaxx, New Edition, Vesta, Karyn White, the Mac Band...all of that stuff. They have a good Friday-night show here on a station in my city that plays all this stuff. Nowadays this kind of stuff would NEVER make it, because she's not half-dressed shaking her azz!

I never even heard that song. And she's still classy with it--and as a matter of fact, she was wearing a midriff-baring top as a 12-year-old in "Secrets of True Love"!
However, I didn't really like that song--it's almost as if she was trying to "adapt" her singing style to the late nineties, which really didn't complement her strong voice. A lot of singers did that--For example, Aaliyah was much more talented than her songs made her sound.

Another thing: her videos (and most of the ones of that era) are really well-shot and artistic. Now it's just a bunch of jiggling butts.

I miss the likes of Mikki Howard, Melba Moore, Angela Bofill, Phyllis Hyman, Evelyn "Champagne" King...all of their careers could have been much bigger based on singing abilities...
