Bob Johnson is an undisputed champion of sell-outs. But he is also a captain of industry, and like most captains of industry, he will will sell-out those who buy their product to gain more fortune. It's a fact of life and the western economy, particularly the US economy...
While he has amassed a fortune in the media, he has undoubtedly made business decisions that increased his fortune, and not neccesarily the interest of black community. It's arguable if Johnson has an obligation to do what's "right"...but at the end of the day, he interested in the dollar, so in that light, he made a good business decision....
Now regarding his politics, he's a Clinton crony, what did you expect?...

I have stated that he made choices, many of which based on how much money he could very quickly. yep...his decisions were based on that and that only. You should read Tavis Smiley's book "What I Know For Sure" regarding his relationship with Bob, and his business practices. Tavis, towards the end, was single-handedly keeping BET afloat... " I see my on-air talent as parishioners. I see my executives as the Pope. And I'm like---well, I'm like God. And you can't go past the pope to get to God"--- From "What I know For Sure" Bob Johnson to Tavis Smiley after Tavis was fired for insubordination remarks in a 2000 USA Today article WOW! Actually...I have to shout a big YO!YO! for that. That's some fvckin' balls to even THINK like that *Comes back down to earth from NUPE moment* He's an asshole...

Bob Johnson is as big a coon as these rappers who will live in their mamas' houses and rent cars for their music videos and won't pay child support.
I wish we could get TV One on regular cable here . . .

Um...I don't know...maybe....maybe because he amassed most of his fortune during Clinton's two-terms?..LOL! Maybe because Bob donated A LOT a mulah to the Clinton machine, that opened up a few business opportunities for Johnson...hmm...

Nupe you sound 7... you sound be able to comprehend that if you are in a position where you can controll what is displayed and what is not, then you have the responsibility (especially being a black man provide entertainment that is declared "Black Entertainment) to promote positive images.. and yes he would STILL be a Billionaire (one we could be proud of)...
I have met his kids and you are right they would not be caught DEAD watching BET..
