Clearing the Air About the Last 24 Hours

[QUIET As Kept]

Since there have been several questions/comments posed throughout the board as well as via PMs, We are creating one central place to hopefully address everything that has transpired since yesterday evening.

The Allegations/Proof
To clarify, the issue began with Nupey accessing the women's forum, and subsequently posting on the main board messages from the women's forum word for word.

Many of you have read Priss' response and confirmation that he did quote her from the women's forum. For those who need additional proof, see below comparison screen shots of posts in the women's forum vs his posts in the main board's random thoughts.

The Actions Taken
The decision was made to ban Nupey for the following reasons:

*he took information that he knew to be personal, and posted it on the board to intentionally hurt another OOer

*he took information that was posted with the expectation that it would remain in an area with a limited audience and posted it in a section that is open not only to registered posters, but also any and every lurker who comes across the site

*his efforts to access the women's thread was the continuation of a repeated behavior, that combined with the level of arrogance he displayed, suggested that it will likely happen again


Other OOers Involved
It's obvious that other OOers played a role in this, whether intentionally or not. We would definitely love to address that as well, so any assistance anyone could provide to point us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.


Nupey's Alters
Yes he has created (an) alter(s) today, which has/have also been banned. We will continue to ban any other alters that appear that we know are his.


Male Mods
We totally agree with the need for male mods, hence our previous attempts months ago. For the record...those who either declined or did not respond previously included Cam, Damie & Cold (in case you were considering suggesting them this time).

It looks like we have some who are interested this time around, so we hope to have someone in place soon.


What's Next with the Only Sections?
We are reworking the the access to "only" sections. This is going to take a while...at least a couple of days. If u notice any weird changes......just know we are making major changes...

The passwords have been changed for a temporary fix until the permanent changes are completed. We will post an update/announcement once that is done.

At looking at the "evidence" or the traces that remain, most will be like, "big deal" but it's deeper than that. With regard to my response to that boy... I asked that the thread be moved because frankly, Im over it and too many randoms were coming to be nosey. However, some of my inital posts to him are still up...eh, who cares. But I'll say this, if you just read what is still up and dont know why I said what I said or followed or sparked it, then please mind your business and keep your mouth to yourself.

Oh wow, this is completely out of control. And no disrespect to the board, but this is why folks (including myself at times) leave and be ghost for so long because of all the foolishness that occurs on here. I use to love coming to the board and just talking sh!t, laughing, etc.

Can we ever come back to just being happy OOer's? I'm gonna pray on this situation and hope that the this clears up quickly so we can be in a Golden Age again and not an Iron one.

This is why I advocate putting trouble makers on blast. Call folks on BS and hold folks accountable and ish like this wouldn't happen as much. Also protect your neck. No one can protect YOU like YOU.

Okay so I will say this one more time. Folks HAVE been put on blast. If you haven't noticed, you need to pay more attention...seriously. And if those people who have blasted them, do not care to do it again (putting their own business out there), that is their perogative.

This doesn't go out to anyone in particular, but rather to anyone and everyone on OOA.

Plus we all need to make better use of our common sense. After all, this IS a messageboard on the Internet.

Ummmm 123 there have been specific occasions where people might have done it and then erased stuff before anyone sees it which defeats the purpose. My thing if you know someone is a rat and you keep it under wraps how does it serve anyone other than the rat who will just burn the next person.

If people were put on blast why are most people clueless about the culprits in a lot of the other instances of e-drama on here. I'm just saying. Not trying to get into a pissing contest with you 123 but on the real a lot of folks stay tight lipped.

One thing we can agree on is this is the Internet so common sense is a must.

And by the way, I can think of at least 4 instances (since being on this board) where folks were called out and nothing was deleted. Names weren't used at all times, but with just a little common sense...you can fill in the blanks...

I see why you and really everyone would want names named (hell, I sort of do to for the things left I haven't figured out), but remember that these things deal with people's real lives and real business and if they don't want to bring it up again, so be it; we should respect that.

See 123 that is what I am saying. Everyone says use common sense but this board is vast everyone doesn't read everything or see every thread thus what some people think is common knowledge isn't so common. My thing is be explicit or leave it a lone and let chaos run amok.

Its not that I want names its that if folks know they won't be outed they don't care about doing it again. It terms of names I am not saying real gubment names. I am saying screen names. In terms of IRL ish...as you(and I) stated this is the net so leave your IRL stuff off the net whenever possible. Like Priss said she didn't care about what he shared because she had put it out there it was the principle and intent which I dug and respect her for. I am saying if you don't want your ish out there don't put it on the net. That goes for me, you and everyone else. Its a risk we all take being up on here and posting. As we see everyone on here aint wrapped too tight.
