Nice....Oh yeah..Cam & Robe,
I just recently ran into Kevin Powell in NYC last week. He is a journalist and public speaker but most remember him from MTV's The Real World (I think he might have wrote a book on 2pac too) But anyway, dude is Frat...I didnt know that. I saw him in passing at a function in Manhattan and he had a Frat lapel pin on. I hit him up on the quick and easy and he is frat. I cant really remember his chapter's name but he mentioned they go by something like the "Wall Street Alphas". We only exchanged words briefly but Im thinking he may have just been initiated not too long ago...Dude seem a little "Neo'ish"..hahaha But he mentioned he is running for congress in some District out in Brooklyn. Cool Bro though.......Just thought I would share.

He was just initiated a few weeks ago. He's good people though. Ok...I figured that. He just had this "Neo" type of aura about him...Like EXTREMELY hype to meet another Alpha bro...Wanting to Grip up like 3 to 4 times in a single conversation...haha. Cool dude though....I hope his run at congress goes well. |

Here's his website. He doesn't look much older than he did when he was on the very first season of The Real World. It's hard to believe, but that was almost 20 years ago (1992.) I remember him being a smart, erudite brotha on that show...and the li'l bruhaha that flared up between he and the girl in the house. She claimed he threw a candle holder at her. If you think about it, he had an "Alpha" attitude even back then...smart....and cocky. |

Kevin Powell is VERY ACTIVE in NYC community. He holds conferences on the state of Black America regularly-he focuses on the youth and men. He was running for Congress 2 years ago but the incumbent,Ed Towns had held that position for over 20 years...thee's A LOT of cronyism here in BK politics. However,Kevin is someone who is known to put his actions into effect...that's nice that he pledged Alpha.
BTW: Kevin got into arguments with 5 out of the 6 peeps in the house during eal World. And he would NEVER back down from a debate/argument! LOL
