....come out publicly and "apologize" for his remarks? If he came out and said something to the effect that his "change of heart" was due to Obama's influence sway some of the current naysayers into giving Obama a "pass?"
speak on it!

No, it would not be sincere. He is not sorry, nor should he be. He has said some pretty controversial things, but when taken in context, they are mostly true.

I don't think he said anything that was wrong or untrue...it may be an unpopular opinion for whitey because they don't like to "look at themselves in the mirror" but nobody is disputing the validity of what he said, the dispute is regarding his patriotism and to me love for my country should also include my country loving me and when there is evidence to the contrary then why can't I say something about it?
No apology needed...I think some attention needs to be brought to the fact that one of us does not speak for all of us, he can speak to enlighten us but his words are not Barack's words...

I actually heard three Whites at the gas station talking yesterday. This White man said, "Did you all ever go online and listen to the pastor's WHOLE speech? Most people talking about it haven't. If you listen to the whole speech, everything he's saying is TRUE! People just got soundbites and twisted it up".
I'll admit--I have NOT heard the entire sermon. But I was kind of surprised to hear him say that.
Anyway, I think Wright should get quiet, and Obama shouldn't really bring it up anymore. Let it die down. Meanwhile, maybe Hillary will keep telling lies, and we can talk about THAT! ;D

Well I heard Obama on The View today, and he was adament that this is a friend and people are taking 30 seconds of comments as being the "gospel". Elisabeth tried to back Obama in a corner with asking him if he still associates with him, despite the racist views? Obama, stated if people were to take five of the dumbest things she had said and ran it on YouTube over and over again, how would she feel? hilarios!

As for Rev. Wright, the comment has been said and done. Their is nothing more to discuss about the situation. What would an apology do regarding the situation, other than really hurt Obama. Let it go.

He shouldn't apologize. I think the media took alot of his sermon out of context which is sadly normal. Apologizing would just add more fuel to the fire.

Actually, Fox News owes Rev Wright an apology. I won't wait for that to happen though.
Hopefully once Obama is elected, Wright can come out and explain what he was saying and put those soundbites into context.
It sounds like Obama and Wright are still close and Wright has just agreed to lay low until all of this is over.

There have been at minimum two WHITE pastors who have gone to bat for Rev. Wright, and one of them was as loud and energetic as was Wright in his defense of him.
He, like most sensible folks, admonished the YouTube watchers to not judge Rev. Wright by a 30 second soundbyte that is being used to persecute and vilify him when what he basically said was THE TRUTH!

Hayle no he shouldn't apologize. Apologize for what? Speaking his mind? Using his freedom of speech?? He said what he felt and why should he have to apologize for that?
Like when Don Imus and Kramer apologized for the racist remarks they spewed, I honestly lost ALL respect for them. Don't try and apologize for what you REALLY feel. I feel that if you are not under duress, if you said it you meant it. NO BACKSEES!!! Man up! All actions have reactions so don't punk put when some don't like what you said because there are those who do. You can't please everyone. Be who you are! Just be real!!

don imus and kramer are not not in the same category as Reverend Jeremiah Wright
but i guess when you step back and look at the pro black angry preacher of another Gospel....... i can see where you could lump him in with the worldly entertainers.

No, he should not apologize. I listened to both sermons and neither was offensive. Did I think he went a bit overdramatic with the "God damn America?" Of course. But then again, I wasn't mad at it. In context, there was nothing wrong with the message (that I could see)
