BATTLE OF THE GREEKS
CHICAGO NPHC GREEK FAMILY PICNIC ACTIVITIES
Event 1: Who¡¯s got Talent?
Individual Team Event
Each organization will have 3 minutes to present some form of talent. (It can NOT be stepping, hopping, strolling, or cane twirling). Talent can be presented as a group (max 6 members) or individual (To be decided by each Org).
Talent will be judged by a representative of each organization that is participating in this event. (If your organization isn¡¯t participating in this event they can NOT judge.) There is a possibility of 5 points per judge.
Teams will lose 1 point for every minute over the 3 minute mark. Teams will be disqualified from event for vulgarity, profanity, nudity, or dissing of any organization. Teams must bring everything they need for their show.
(Music, props, chairs, etc.). Talent will be judged by creativity, presentation, crowd appeal, & overall performance.
Point Value: Each Organization can receive points from this event.
Event #2: Know you¡¯re Greek
Fraternities vs. Sororities
One member from each organization must be on each team. The fraternities will only answer questions about sororities and vice versa for the sororities. The game will be played in Jeopardy format. There will be two timed rounds and one final question. Round 1 will be 3 minutes and round 2 will be 2 minutes. Each team has 10 seconds to answer their question. The final round will be 1 question and each team will wager an amount of their points.
Teams will be given 20 seconds to answer the final question. If the question is answered correctly it will be added to their point total for the event and if answered incorrectly it will be deducted. Each member of the team must answer at least one question to receive points for their individual organization. Answers shouted from the audience will not count.
Point Value: The total amount of points for each team will be added to each participating organizations point
total.
Event #3 Tug©\A©\War
This is a Team Event:
Fraternities vs. Fraternities ¨C Sororities vs. Sororities
Each team must have 6 members. This event will test each organizations teamwork ability and strength.
Game Breakdown:
Sororities:
Round #1 ¨C Each organization will pull a number to determine the pairings for the round. The winners of each tuga©\war will advance to the final tug©\a©\war round.
Final Round ¨C The two winning teams from round 1 will be allowed to change 1 member from the 1st round.
Point Value: The winning Sorority will receive 20 points.
Fraternities:
Round #1 ¨C Each organization will pull a number to determine the pairings for the round. One organization will get
an automatic pass to the next round.
Round #2 ©\ The two winning teams from round 1 will pull again with one team moving to the Final round
automatically. The team that doesn¡¯t pull the automatic pass will face the team who pulled the automatic pass in
round 1, but will be allowed to change 1 member from their Round 1 team.
Final Round ¨C The winner of Round 2 will face the team who pulled the automatic pass in Round 2.
Point Value: The winning Fraternity will receive 20 points.
NOTE: IF ANY TEAM RELEASES THE ROPE CAUSING THE OTHER TEAM TO FALL WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS EVENT AND 10 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THAT ORGANIZATIONS TOTAL SCORE.
Event #4 Softball Throw
This is an Individual Team event

Each organization will select one member to run through the obstacle course. The sorority and fraternity with the best times will receive 20 pts.
NOTE: ORGANIZATION TEAM MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR THEIR ORGANIZATIONS COLORS & LETTERS AT ALL TIMES, SO THAT THEY CAN BE EASILY IDENTIFIED BY THE GAME OFFICIALS.
