WASHINGTON (CNN) — A poll out Tuesday suggests Hillary Clinton holds a clear advantage over Barack Obama in Pennsylvania, the next crucial battleground in the prolonged fight for the Democratic nomination.
Clinton holds a 12-point lead over Obama in the state, 53 percent to 41 percent, according to the poll. The New York senator's lead is double what a similar poll showed in late February, though it is still less than the 18-point gap between the two candidates in a month ago.
Clinton's widest gains in the state are among white voters, who now back her over Obama by a margin of 28 points. That compares to a 19-point gap in the late February poll.
Rove style tactics but this time it's Fratricide. Democrat on Democrat.
I hope you all are watching this and I hope you all remember.

She is now pushing for the Florida delegates to be recognized. Her tactics and motives are so transparent. I really feel like Obama is running because he feel like he can make a change in the country, Hillary is running to fulfill a personal goal.

I half want to leave the Democratic party behind this shenanigans. If Hillary's tactics succeed and she gets the nod, we might as well get ready for President McCain. I'm a Dem...but I SWEAR they can fvck some stuff up like nobody else sometimes. We should be WALZING into the White House smooth as silk...but they're about to fvck that up. Unbelievable.

Not just a personal goal, but some sort of Familial Right of Ascencion. She has put in her dirty work and now it's time for her to reap what is ALREADY rightfully hers, by birthright, by partisan loyalty, and by network.
I didn't hear Obama's speech. I'm sure it was rousing as they usually are... but I knew this would be the end as a result of a protracted (and ultimately irrelevant) tangent on race.
Keith Olberman was right to refer to her tactics, not as legitimate political strategy, but more as suicide pact. She will do anything to win - include destroy hers and everyone else chances of winning. Both Obama AND Hillary were running ahead of John McCain by 5 or 6 percentage points not long ago. Now they are in a statistical dead heat.
I wonder why? But hey - Hillary is doing Barack a favor by staying in right? She's just toughening him up by demonstrating that a race based attack works effectively. I'm sure the Republicans AREN'T taking notes on this.

Hillary was probably somewhere shaking in her boots...the speech was really good. I think what made it so good was that you really felt that he believed what he was saying. He brought it home to Pennsylvania too, he talked about the Declaration of Independence, and how it was created in that great state. Like I said before, I hope my enthusiasm for Obama isn't making me overly optimistic, but I think his campaign has turned a corner here. He was going to have to eventually address race in America, he was not going to get away with running a serious campaign as a black man, without talking about race.

Hillary will not beat John Mccain. Yanno why? Because black people will be so upset that Mccain will carry the black vote.

I'll look for it... but honestly I have come to realize that bigotry is reliable. More reliable than reason. You saw how people's true character came out after 9/11. Suddenly every hateful and hurtful thought white people had that they were scared to voice, suddenly had a receptive audience. It was suddenly okay to detain people on how they looked. It's okay to hold people OUTSIDE the United States in order to interrogate them but not make them suspectible to the rule of law in America (right to a trial, representation, etc.). Suddenly we can be open about rendition and domestic spying - and not only can we be open about it, we can use it as a litmus test to determine your patriotism. If you don't sign on 100% you're with the terrorists... if you question the governments demonstrated and implied ability to misuse power far greater than the Constitution would ever allow - you want the terrorists to win.
THESE are the people digesting these soundbytes. They are not smart, nor are they trying to be. Being informed to them means, they've seen a few partisan commercials or they've watched a half an hour of CNN. These are the people who you are hoping are listening to Barack's speech and getting to his message and beyond their bigotry. And honestly - I want to believe it can happen Prissy, I really do - but a liftetime of experience shows me otherwise. With this Rev. Wright Issue overinflated with political hype receiving heavy media coverage - it is now okay for the "Sock Puppets" to vote based on this alone. Those looking for a reason to not vote for Obama, for those looking for a reason to embrace a lifetime of training that says "Black Men are a threat", theu now have a convenient political malestrom in which to couch or hide their bigotry. I don't vote for Obama, not because he's black, but because his pastor is pro-black.
I continue to hope for the best, but I am already writing Pennsylvania off. Bigotry is more reliable than reason

Hillary will not beat John Mccain. Yanno why? Because black people will be so upset that Mccain will carry the black vote. Or they just won't vote. And either one would cripple Hillary. If she thinks that will be some magic salve that heal this divide by November she is completely out of her mind. She is burning down the village in her effort to save it and doesn't even realize it or care apparently.

Which demonstrates that people are stupid. Because it's no one color of people suffering in Ohio with the loss of jobs, it's every race. But somehow I can imagine that what Jeremiah Wright had to say in a lil ol' Church that you never would have heard of if Obama didn't attend it, will be more important than being unemployed or under-employed for the next 8 years.
It was like when AARP endorsed the Bush Medicare Bill. They froze high prices on drugs, forbid the Government to negotiate the price down so that essentially ended up with less coverage - it only benefitted a small percentage of AARP. People are idiots. And they WILL vote against their best interest

She married Bill for a purpose, she supported his behavior in Ark and the White House for a purpose, she is running for president which has been a long standing plan. Very calcuated, very strategic, and I am not toatally upset with her long standing plan to run the presidential seat. Now, when it come to tactics...different story.

I think our brothers and sisters will simply stay away from the polls in protest to the assault that is being waged by the democratic party and the Clintons. TN Gov. Phil Bredesen has so far, given the BEST suggestion for handling this "super delegate" mess. After this election is over...regardless of whether the democrats win or not, they need to get together somewhere and come up with a new plan of action before 2012...AND PUT AN END TO THIS SUPER DELEGATE BULLshit!!!

Speaking of message boards:
I found this post below on "The Cafferty File" blog from CNN...just one of the many I've been reading to gauge the public's response to the senator's address on Tuesday. 85% and up have responded positively. This post, however, was one of the more "right to the point" and just plain common sense responses I've seen...and from a white man in Idaho ( one of the places Obama supposedly couldn't win) of all places. Pay special attention to the portion I've bolded.
Jack,
His race alone does not matter to me, but how he’s handling the race issue certainly matters to me. Obama’s race in some ways led to the Wright controversy, which in many ways led to the astonishingly brave speech Obama gave this morning. His speech was the most inspiring speech he’s given to date, and it’s the most inspiring and inspired speech I’ve heard in my 25-year lifetime. I was shaken to the core by the qualities he showed America today. He was gutsy, he attacked the issues head-on and left no stone unturned or question unanswered. He effectively laid to rest every possible concern I could have about him, his church and his approach to the race issue today, tomorrow and throughout the rest of his political career. If Obama had to be black for this all to unfold - what I think is a major turning point in the discussion of race in America on a timeless scale - then I suppose his race matters to me. Because these things needed to be said by someone, and Barack Obama is the perfect person to deliver the message. This indeed was his baptism-by-fire moment, and he has emerged a newer, braver and bolder person as a result of it. What an outstanding person, and how lucky we are to be able to vote for him for president.

She is showing her true colors, she is selfish, greedy and DESPERATE!
I'm not losing hope or faith about this. Something is gonna happen to where it is going to change the course of this nomination.
Plus..........................they only doing this to Obama cuz they can't find anything to dig up on him.
Truly desperate.

The polls will swing back at some point, she's not getting a bump so much as he (Obama) is getting a knock right now. The poll reflects him taking damage over the Jeremiah Wright issue. It'll level out a little bit I suspect.
At some point this story is going to die down in part because Barack (unlike John Kerry) addressed it fairly quickly and didn't let the story get legs - at least not with intellectuals. For the intellectuals the speech was historic. The damage however is done as far as ign'ant folks. They got their marching order from Fox and they're going to execute them. They'll keep repeating this from now to November until their trainers and handlers teach them a new attack to repeat. That's the way of politics that Barack's trying to change. We just have to weather this storm.
I wonder how much footage they had to scour through to find these comments. Must have taken awhile since it happened back in 2002 if I'm not mistaken.
Quick - tell me who Hillary's pastor or priest is? Who is McCain's. Don't know do you? Think about that. Who do they play cards with? Who did they send Christmas cards out to? If it's fair game to character assassinate by association then I guess it's fair game for everybody. We should start kicking over some stones and in their pasts.

Well, I get some consolation out of the fact that his speech has been viewed on YouTube over 2 million or so times in just the past 48 hours. The message that he was trying to get out may very well be spread to the masses after all.
As I've said, those who had no intentions of supporting him were not going to do it whether the video of Rev. Wright's sermon had come about or not, so I don't really think that any of the past few days episodes have changed that.
