The Obama pound, exchanged between Michelle and Barack on Tuesday night, marked a historic moment. Yeah, there's that whole first black nominee for president thing. But more significant, is the fact that the greeting which has been described by confused white journalists as a "fist bump," "closed-fist high-five," "a frat-tastic fist bump" and a "'Hezbollah' style fist-jabbing" is finally being introduced to mainstream culture. The introduction of "The Pound" into our national vocabulary will have ripple effects. It already has. People previously unfamiliar "the pound" are seeing the world in a whole new way. For instance, they should now realize that when the New York Times' Ashley Parker wrote about Reggie Love "offering closed-fist high-fives to members of the news media…." she was not describing a painful caveman greeting, but said pound. (I think the Times owes Reggie a correction.) I can't find an official history or definition of the pound, but here is what I found on Ubrandictionary.com *Click the link to see the definitions: www.workinglife.org/blogs/view_post.php?content_id=8084Of course you now have ppl saying that this "fist pound" may have something to do with Terrorism... Have any of you heard about this?

Yall Obama is my nigg!!!! Yesterday during a response to McCain's proposal for 10 townhall style debates, he didn't say "probably" he said "probly". I was like hell yeah Barack! Lmao.
Little stuff like that makes him sooo relatable to me.

What about the time early in the primaries when he showed up 15 minutes late and said, "Now am I Black enough?" ROFL!!!! I think that's what I LOVE about Barack and Michelle--they are so "real" to me--I can relate to them. They seem like people that would go to my church or something. In fact, one of Michelle's law school classmates used to go to my church. My dad met Michelle at a rally, and she wasn't taking pictures. My dad shook her hand and and said, "I am good friends with [Michelle's classmate], can I take a picture with you?" She said, "Yeah, but make it quick, I'm not supposed to be taking pictures!" They are just real, good people.
