GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) Hebrews 10:29 What do you think a person who shows no respect the Son of God deserves? That person looks at the blood of the promise (the blood that made him holy) as no different from other people's blood, and he insults the Spirit that God gave us out of his kindness. He deserves a much worse punishment.
Sincerely,
Your neighborhood Bible Believer

I don't know... the HUGE Sign that said "BLASPHEMY" below a man nailed to a cross kinda tipped me off that they were referring to Christ.

I didn't laugh, and I thought those guys were tacky...but at the same time, let's keep in mind that that is a PAINTING of someone's image of Jesus. That picture ITSELF is not Jesus.

here's an analogy... Your family member passes away...and you have a painting of him/her in your home... and I take that painting and urinate on it. Now, I'm not peeing on your loved one, but I would be highly disrespectful to who they were, even though its not really them.
In the 10 commandments, God says we are forbidden from using His name in vain. Literally speaking, the name of God does not embody all that God is; nevertheless, it is disrespectful/blasphemous to misuse God's name because God is no playing matter. Moreover, the Cross of Christ, the sacrificial lamb of God is not/should not be taken lightly as a joke.
I'm all for laughs, but some stuff isn't funny. In Hebrews 10:29, it speaks to giving the Son of God, our Savior, the one who saved us from death hell and the grave the respect He deserves...and clearly (at least to me) this poster doing the YMCA with Jesus on the Cross as the "Y" is anything but showing that respect.
My $.02

My $.02 If the painting was a picture of a deceased loved one, i'd be angered. If the picture was of a pale white man with blonde hair and blue eyes which is supposed to be a picture of my deceased loved one, i'll piss it on myself. We can both pee on it. Hell, we can even invite R Kelly for the piss-tivities.

The fact of the matter is that it is understood that this pic is of Jesus Christ, it doesnt matter if he is red - blue- green- black....as soon as we ALL saw the pic, we KNEW thats suppose to be Jesus. We can dance around that FACT all day long, so we KNOW better. what they are doing in the pic is considered blasphemous and we KNOW that.
For example. You SEE the McDonalds arches and know its mcdonalds. If a 5 year old draws a restaurant with golden arches although it may not be totally accurate, you KNOW its McDonalds.
So really, the immature guys standing next to the picture mocking the pic...can be seen as disrespectful, bc they are standing next to an interpretive drawing/painting of Jesus making a "M" "C" "A".
Its disrespectful sort of like if I was at a Delta stepshow, throwing up a pyramid but telling them "its not a pyramid, its a diamond".......
what will they say to me?oh okay -no problem. YEAH RIGHT!
See its a serious matter (no pun) when its greek stuff, but when it comes to God and Christianity, its all jokes.
smh.
