This is a continuation of Damies thread about men being the possible "victims of power".
On the Chris Matthews show this morning the panelist were discussing men in power and sex. One of the panelist discussed a biological study of the men and came up with some interesting findings.
The same things that make a man charge up a hill, run for public office, take on leadership roles, is the same biological element that causes him to cheat.
He called it the Alpha Male "gene" although i'm not so sure it's actually a gene that causes it.
The theory is that you rarely find one without the other. Where you have alpha males you have the ENTIRE alpha male. You can't pick and choose which elements you want to keep and which you wish to discard. If you want a positive strong, protective and courageous leader then you will probably deal with the negative traits of him being somewhat of a bully and making his choice of women.
Also, part of the problem is that women are BIOLOGICALLY drawn to these men.
I know many of you will discard this by saying, "but we are human and therefore operate on a higher intellectual plane which is not strictly governed by our inate and biological urges" and you would be correct. Except that the reasons for the actions themeselves can't totally be discarded BECAUSE it is inate in these individuals.
Should they pay the price if/when caught? Of course. But that's not the issue. The question women keep asking is WHY DO MEN CHEAT not whether or not they should pay the price when they are caught. I think we all agree that one must pay the piper when they select the tune.
Your thoughts.
