I was watching CNN last night and they were speaking on this alittle. Basically stating that if Obama wins then the govt need to re- look at race based programs through out the country. How do you feel about this impending flare up?
Also has anyone felt the Obama backlash yet? Poor service...angry looks?
I would hope that if Affirmative Action is removed which I do agree with that the hiring practices are fair with a federal oversight committee on the task. I don't believe i race based initiatives but I also don't agree with unfair hiring practices. There needs to be a medium established.

I was watching that as well. And trust me, you already have a faction of the white populace saying things like "well, maybe now blacks will be satisfied and stop crying for handouts." Now, mind you, many of the whites who make these kinds of comments are those like the ones that make up 95% of the population of W. Virginia...poor, uneducated whites.
That lack of education and exposure to diversity of cultures brings about that attitude. Many of those same folks feel like blacks have been rewarded with jobs and opportunities that THEY deserve...simply because they're white. They dismiss the fact that we are college graduates with a multiplicity of degrees in many cases.
While I don't agree with "race-based" preferences, I do hope that this country won't be foolish enough to think that election of ONE black man to the nation's highest office will suddenly mean that discrimination in the work place, housing markets, etc. has come to a screeching halt!
And lest we forget...he ain't in the WH yet!!

I have run into some hard care Billary supporters, and they admit how McCann is not a good choice for Amerca, but at the same time could not vote for Obama.

A lot of African Americans think that if we have an African American president that all of our problems are going to vanish, which I sincerely doubt.

I think the Obama winning will reflect well on the the AfAm culture. There are so many misconceptions of black women and men. If Obama is elected maybe the world can see (as they already have) more than the steriotypes placed before them on television. There will be angry prejudice folks, but they were there before he ran.

I know it's gonna be interesting in the DMV for awhile if he is elected. I probably wont drive through VA for at least a year and my office is a block from the WH.....hmmm... I may move. *Im serious* I depends on how folks are acting around Nov. /Dec.

I had to read it twice and remember where you live.
