Pure speculation, but I believe that she will not be the VP.
Generally, the VP slot is a "do nothing" job in any administration. It's relevance and importance vis a vis it's informal role in the administration depends a lot on the President and how he chooses to "use" the VP - advisor, rep of the administration, etc.. The "powers" of the VP are limited at best - tie breaker in the senate, preside over and certify the official vote count of the U.S. Electoral College. Beyond that, the VP just needs to make sure that they don't upstage the President. A real glamorous gig.
No, I don't see Hillary wanting that slot, although she could claim the title of being the first woman to hold the position. I'm sure she wants a more active role in his administration and wants to chance to use the influence that the Clinton brand brings with it. That said, I'm willing to bet a dollar to 12 stale doughnuts that Obama will make her..................Secretary of State.
It's the ideal spot for her.
The Secretary of State is the highest cabinet position in the Executive branch. The S.S. is the face and voice of the administration in foreign countries and handles a gang of foreign affairs responsibilities. It's a much more "visible" cabinet position when compared to the veep slot. And, historically, it is viewed as more of stepping stone to the Presidency than the VP gig.
Hillary's tenacity, political savvy and all around "balls" would serve her well as S.S. Aaand....you get two for one with this appointment - good ole Bubba. Bill could easily travel with Hillary as she executes her duties and lend his expertise and use the influence with heads of state he amassed as President to assist her in promoting US foreign policy. And all in an "unofficial" capacity - he'll just be the "husband" taggin' along with his wife on her "business trips." wink-wink.
So yeah, I see the secretary of state gig being offered up to Hillary right after Obama offers and she declines the VP slot.
